I have a bad barring in my left axle and need the axle replaced. Various mechanics that I know in the area don't want to touch it. Does anyone know any "marauder" experienced mechanics in the southern Maryland that wouldn't mind taking care of this issue without raping my pockets like the dealership would. Thanks

Dependig on how bad the bearing chewed up the axle they both will need replacing. If they don't want to touch it then happily move on because that's the "simple" part. Not like its setting gears. But anyway do locate someone else. While its down and apart it'll be good to hear upgrade if you haven't.
Both axles (L & R) are the same. I have an axle I'll sell if you need one. You can get bearing and seal from local parts store or napa

Sounds like the various "mechanics" you know aren't.
Minor job for a decent wrench

If you can do brakes, you can do axles. There is nothing to it.
Rent a bearing puller tool and get to work.

Please excuse me if I came off the wrong way, but everything most of you have said is info I already knew and did not need. I simply asked if anyone knew any mechanics who wouldn't mind doing the job. That is all
