I recently bought a used intake spacer and it was damaged in shipping. Its warped and bent but not cracked or kinked. Is there any way that you could bend it back into shape? I was thinking either putting it between some plywood and hammering it, or just tring to slide it in and letting the bolts compress it into shape. Also it did not come with any bolts, im assuming im going to need longer bolts but i have no clue what thread/size/pitch, etc. Also im assuming its a php, although the seller said it was from reinhart auto. The aluminum spacer is 1/4" and the black plastic gasket is an 1/8" thick, total of 3/8" together. Thanks for all the help!

I wouldn't just try to bend it back into shape by bolting it in, the intake is aluminum and you will probably strip the threads.

Exactly what i thought, exactly why im asking. Dont really know what i should do, but if you think the threads would strip....that idea is out the window. Thanks!

Any heat treat place can get it straightened for you pretty quick and cheap.
You could smack it between two pcs of steel if you have that available to you.

Thread size and pitch should be pretty easy to match up at any hardware store or bolt supply company. Just add a 1/4 inch to your sample.

As far as between plywood, it will help but the wood will absorb most of the impact.

You could ship it to me, I could flatten it out and ship it back if you need help:beer:

Just take it to a machine shop if your not comfortable heating it up and straightening it out your self.

Well, i have to say for $25 i cant complain about the shipping...it said "do not bend" 3 times in bold marker ink....i think shipping companies actually look for stuff like this just to bend it up. Ill talk to some guys at work tomorrow and look into it. Thanks guys! Great idea
