Why not just pick up the tranny, too? Could prolly peddle it to recover some of the cost.

Its all the way in FL as you know. There are cheaper options with less miles closer to me. Not all are on here.

I'd probably pick up a clean, older Vic on payments to get some breathing room, and spread out the repairs on the set-up you have now over nine months until next spring. It's easier and more favorable to get financing on a complete car, and you won't lose much value on the Vic in a year.

Sometimes helping people is work.

So, does anyone here live in a ten mile radius of Dom and have a sound motor for sale. Who is also willing to put it in and take payments or trade for putting your companies bumper stickers on his car:lol:

Almost sorry Dom :D

Hey Dom, Check out GovDeals.com. May be able to find a cheap cop car or some other beater to tide you over until you can get the funds for the MM.

Someone the other day at WORK told me it's rude to say weed... I was told it was rude to say dope a few years back.

I don't get it... I don't think they do neither. LOL

Dom, the FL engine shouldn't be ruled out because of location. Heck, I'll kick in some bucks for shipping to help close tbe deal and I'm sure other guys would too.

As nice as it sounds and as little as I would feel.... the miles are pretty high Rex.

That is my biggest reason for not being Gung Ho on this.

Dom,

Have you figured out what is wrong with the S/C Cobra engine yet?

It most likely will be cheaper to fix it than to buy and ship another engine for your Marauder.
Plus, that Cobra engine has forged pistons, premium Manley rods and a forged crank.
You won't get any of that with a used Marauder/Mach I engine.

The labor cost will murder me, but yes I see you point. I will hold onto the Cobra for another time.

The above works or you could get a new "tin can that gets a zillion miles per gallon". No money down spread over 8 years, the saved gas money can nearly pay the payments depending on how many miles you guys drive. The wife would likely love it too.

That's what i did, a 2013 Elantra, over 30 MPG city, no breakdowns, warranty. I'm only putting on a couple thousand miles a year on the MM now and it will grace my driveway for many many years to come.

While this is good advice, I love the Marauder too much. I would rather make all my meals at home and drive the Marauder than eat steak and have an econo box. Plus people keep crashing into me, so a little car I would not feel safe in. I have been run into four times in the past year, all from sitting at a dead stop.

I understand you're response, when i was in my twenties the thought of an "eco-box", ha! not likely! I've never had an accident which include several million miles in a big rig, knock on wood. Now, with two teenagers and an average two income family, yuk, eco-box, lol.

Good luck, whatever course you choose.

Dom,
You can get a really nice used Panther for under $4,000.
I'm looking at a clean 2001 CVLX for $3,500.
(My stepson's $900 '89 CV LTD....(Thanks again for the heads up on the '89 CV Rich Long!)....got hit and he just got an insurance check for almost $3,000 from the bonehead who hit him.)

No insurance check for me. :)

It may be helpful if you post exactly your needs and limitations as to mileage on engine, distance and what accessories, brackets or associated parts you may require. Just so those that are trying to help won't be wasting their time.

"Mr. Happy" wanted me to find a complete engine. I do not see an issue with a long block, but a long block is not complete. Oh well.

A complete engine with less than 130,000 on it. Just the engine alone. No transmission and already pulled.

Where do you live? I am in Pa.

I am buying back my totaled marauder but the engine bay wasn't touched. Only clipped corner and broke a tie rod.

I am unsure if I am going to rebuild or part out.

The engine has 114000 on it.
