I know it's not a physical sighting but it had to be posted.

Yeah, those show up from time to time. Had one here in Greenville for a while. Ugh!

Always seems to be a Southern thing...never see those here in New England unless the car has Florida plates...

Atrocious! I thought I'd seen everything with a carriage top, have never seen one on a MM. Has anyone ever seen a stretched MM?

WOW...
and I thought when I got my DRT almost three years ago, it was um, interesting.
The original owner, a very senior old boy, had put chrome strips along the door bottoms of both sides and more on the middle sections of the doors...and those darn things were HEAVY DUTY stuff...it took me weeks and weeks to get them off...and then more time to clean the sticky residue off...what a job.
But after someone at the Visitor's Center where I volunteer called it a PIMPMOBILE...I began in earnest to remove those chrome dudes.

Almost stretched mine, couldn't bring my self to spend $10k to cut her in half.
To MMcactusflower: I feel ya, bought a '94 Continental years ago with the well moldings, pulled them as fast as I could and stripped the adhesive too, painfully long project!

When I bought my first there was one new on the lot like this beside it. The one I currently own has marks on the wheel wells that show it used to have the chrome strips.
