I was putting a few pieces back on my car yesterday afternoon and a neighbor stopped. Usually, I do not speak to anyone. I go home to sleep, don't care about the locals, don't care to know them. He was walking by as I was loading the tools back in the trunk and the conversation went like this...
"How's it going?" -Me
"Just fine, thank you." -Him
"Have a good day."
He stops walking... "How's that car treating you?"
"I blew up the engine, but it was my doing."
"Oh no. That's horrible. Did you have nitrous?"
"No, it WAS supercharged, but that's coming off. I don't have time for this anymore."
"Well it's still one hell of a car. I hear you roaring down the road all the time" He starts walking away.
"Thank you. It'll be back soon."
"You take care brother."
The man was twice my age or close to it. I have never seen him before. Even when the engine is blown up, people still love it. Unbelievable. Some people actually have appreciation, even in the state my car is in. I didn't expect that until it was 30 years old.
