Yet another black one spotted in Vancouver...cool vanity plate

Driving around with my lady looking at houses in the Hearthwood area...saw a black Marauder sitting curbside with Trilogy badges on the fender and a vanity plate...stopped and drooled for a little bit. Can I ask why the Merkur XR4Ti (which is very cool as well) gets the driveway spot?

Because the XR4Ti does not run as well and is stuck in the drive ready for repair and the Marauder gets him from a to b.

The XR4Ti was a great car! I had a couple of those ... then SHO's and now a Marauder or two. I think something is wrong with me, I tend to like cars that FORD abandons.

You are right about the repair part. I tore the XR4Ti appart years ago to replace the dash with a non cracked dash (From 85 to mid 87 the dashes cracked horribly) and to fix the wiring the previous owner hacked up. I also installed a custom turbo, intercooler, ported intake and exhause manifolds and full 3 inch mandrel bent exhaust. I got hurt and couldnt work on it for a long time, then I bought the Marauder.

I need to get the XR4Ti back togehter and either sell it or drive it.
Its not nearly as fast as my Marauder, but those things drive like they are on rails. With the Turbo 2.3 and the mods ive done I think its putting out about 325 HP. Maybe more. I couldnt keep the intercooler piping on, when I hit 20PSI of boost they would blow off, no matter how tight the clamps were. I need to have real piping made for it and not the homemade setup on there now.

At one time I had a 85 SVO with 36K miles on it as well. I loved that car, but it sat in garage because I was parnoid to drive it. In the 4 years I owned it I put maybe 1000 miles on it, it just sat in the garage. So I got the XR4Ti and sold the SVO. Ive had 6 XR4Ti's over the years.

I had a Scorpio once too. Nice car, but the 2.8L made that no fun to drive.

I like cars where when I say I have a "X" people say "You have a what? Ive never heard of that".

I hear ya, I too have had a few Ford "Stray's", we are like crazy cat lady's....feeding, grooming and caring for all of Ford's abandoned creatures.
