Hey there all, I'm new to the site and this is my first post. And I have a question, actually I just want some opinions. Here's the story: There's a dealership in my town that has had a '03 Marauder on the lot for about ten months. Go figure, but it doesn't surprise me that they can't sell it around here. Anyway, I looked at this car way back at the end of May last year, when they wanted MSRP for it. Yesterday, my wife and I drove past and we saw the car still on the lot, so we pulled in. It's still brand new, still sitting there, only now, after 10 months it has a sale tag hanging from the mirror that says "Inventory Reduction Sale Price: $23,741". I looked on the Kelly Blue Book page and they say that the rock bottom price would be about $31,000!
So what do you think, is this a really good deal, or am I dreaming? Should I trade in my '03 F250 on it? I don't really NEED a pickup, but then again, it's nice to have one and I don't really NEED a new car, either. It seems like a once-in-a-lifetime deal to me though.

Up to you whether you need/want a new car or not. It's probably got a few (and rough) demo miles on it...but that is an EXCELLENT price for an '03 that's never been titled.

Sounds like a great deal to me, especially on a new Marauder!!

$23.7K sounds like a great price! If they give you the full warrantee, and the miles are low, buy it now! If it's a "problem child" hound them to get it all correct. You're gonna love this car.

Forget a truck...that thing has a HUGE trunk...largest in it's class I believe.
It's worth it! You'll love it a load.

That's a great price actually! Hope to here from you soon.
BTW: Where are you?

Matt,
I sounds like you've answered your own question. But here's a few thoughts: Financially, if you already have a somewhat new vehicle, then you're likely to take a bath on a trade in that doesn't cover your existing loan, this means you're going to have to tack on the "underwater" portion of your loan to the car's sale price, which could substantially raise its cost ... putting your new loan further underwater. (Basically, you'd be increasing your debts to get in the new car.)
If finances aren't an issue for you (lucky guy), then I'd probably say "What does your heart tell you?" -- Couldn't resist a bad reference to Star Wars here -- Take the marauder out for a drive, I'm sure it will win you over.

A price of $23.7K sounds quite low to me unless, of course, the dealer has wrapped in all of the incentives to get to that point. As others have said, I would take a really close look at the mileage and assume that she was "rode hard and put up wet" by several different drivers at the dealership. Insist on a full check ride and once over with a full warranty. If they are truly having difficulty in selling in your market area, this could be a great deal -- but I'll bet that it includes about $5,000 in dealer and other incentives. If all seems on the up and up -- do it --- you definitely won't regret it. None of us really "Need" a Marauder; but darn if it don't feel good every mile.
My 2 cents.

Offer them 20K - and settle on 21.5K - they want it gone! If they refuse give them your #. If they don't call in 7 days accept their offer - the car is too nice to lose.
As soon as you put a few miles on value will drop to 17K.

Sounds like a deal to me. If you come out OK trading in your F250, do it. You can always buy an old used truck to have for those times you need one.

This might be a dealer demo?
That would account for the price?
Sell your F-250 yourself.
Test drive the Marauder if you have not already.

Welcome aboard Matt. If you like, PM with the VIN # and I can see if there was any warranty work done within the time that it sat on the lot and see if it is a demo.
