Long story short, finally need to replace the original 04 front tires, but im thinking im better off replacing all 4 tires at once. So.....what tires should i get?

Leaning towards the Coopers (anyone have any Cons with the Coopers) or deciding to get Kumho tires...any suggestions?

Also i want to fill in that front wheel well a bit more, so suggestions on what size to get? 245 at front, 255 at rear??

Yes this set up will work

I had Nitto Nt850 235/50/18 in the front and Nitto 420S 255/55/18 in the rear on my old Marauder

this will work

Thanks for the response Mebot..but i think im choosing Coopers simply because they told me Nittos are HIGHLY recommended not to use in snow/cold weather :/

No worries. It don't matter what brand tires you go with, that staggered size will work.

Check out the Firestone Firehawks. They are great all-around tires for Chicago all season weather. Had them on for a year and a half, not even close to the crappy wear of those BFGs.

Don't forget to get an alignment to carfixer's specs.

I'm sure they will be fine. I just think the FireHawks are underestimated by many. They are great all-around tires and incredible in the rain.

I have about a year on a set of Goodyear Eagle RSA's in the original staggered sizes. So far, so good. I'm waiting to see if these get unbearably louder with wear like many other sets of Goodyear tires I've had over the years.

My review on the Cooper RS3-As:

Purchased fronts March 2012 (stock size); purchased rears 3 weeks later (stock size). Mileage on car was ~88k when I purchased fronts and put ~500 miles on them before I got the rears. Had the fronts aligned to carfixer's specs.

I now have 116,xxx on the clock. I will need to replace the rears before the year is over; I expect to get another 2-3k out of them before I do, but no more. This means the rears will only have lasted ~30k. NO burnouts since purchased and go WOT/close to WOT to get the 1-2 'chirp' twice a month (this is an average over the 16 months I've had them)

These tires were VERY sticky when new...I don't remember getting a 1-2 chirp the first 10k, but at that time I did not have a CAI/headers/upgraded exhaust like I do now. Now that the rears are almost done, the traction has steadily gone downhill, especially the last 5k or so...very easy to get a 1-2 chirp now, but this could also be due to having the above upgrades done to my MM since original purchase date.

These tires are very good, but am disappointed I will only get 30k out of the rears (especially since no burnouts and occasional 1-2 chirp, and the fact that I got almost 40k out of the BFGs). The fronts still have a fair amount of tread...thinking I can get at least 5k, maybe 10k more out of them before they need to be replaced. No unusual tire wear on fronts, thanks to carfixer's specs. Tires were rotated at every oil change, or every 5k miles.

The fronts I'll give a 10 out of 10, the rears I'll give a 6 out of 10. I am most likely going to go with a different brand when I replace the rears in a couple-tree months.
