I was recently approached by an exporter here in Socal that specializes in exporting big American cars to Europe. Their car lot is full of 60's and 70's big sedans waiting to be shipped overseas. He stated to me that Marauders are in demand in Finland and Sweden and asked if I would sell mine to him. I stated no and followed with my discontent with seeing American classic cars being sent abroad and watching countless Europeans driving them on youtube. How do you guys feels about this?

Hi Panther Dude

I think more American classics should be exported to spread the word about the finest cars ever built.

Demand equal the Marauder Values will go up to where they should be.

C'mon, don't hold back, tell us how you really feel!

I agree though, I hate to see any go but they are going to any way, at least legit everybody gets paid.

I do like the idea of our cars becoming more desirable!

When they do go abroad & should they get wrecked they don't go to the junk yard they get rebuilt. Who cares where they go as long as someone gets to enjoy them. You got to spread the mo jo brother.

I am curious, what big american cars was he shipping? Chryslers, Buicks, Cadillac? Did you take a photo of the car lot? I just sold 4 of my old cars. The new owner was going to get them running and probably resell them.

Let us think about this. As the number of Marauders in the USA decreases, for any reason, the value of the remaining cars increases. So now we own a limited edition car that is becoming more limited everyday. I am not complaining.

The problem is that as the remaining cars get damaged, and with Ford discontinuing items every 5 minutes, we will not have access to wrecked cars to help repair our own...they'll be under 4 feet of ice in Finland. We already have to resort to CV bumper covers...

Eventually, after enough time the aftermarket should start making quality parts for Marauders. Just like they now make parts for 60's Mustangs, Camaros and Cudas. Today you can build a 60's Mustang with aftermarket parts, including a new body.

The only problem I see is that while Mustangs were made in the millions. We have less than 12k Marauders to begin with. So the demand may never be there to justify the expense for any aftermarket supplier.:(

The last few years, it does appear I've run more and more across stories such that for some Europeans (from vintage cop cars, muscle cars, to even like that guy fixing up that old Crown Vic station wagon in the UK) they have begun to appreciate older school American automotive styling. And at a time where less and less here appreciate it.

I can still remember when I was growing up and people still preferred American looking cars here and most would still prefer a Lincoln over some sporty exotic or European sports car. Now its the reverse. And in Cali it seems like all would prefer to have Asian or European cars or luxury cars. Most would laugh at the idea of buying a Lincoln Town Car, as big and comfy as it may be.

That right there is why mass aftermarket parts will never be available:(

^^^My thoughts, too. Although I did spend several weeks in Finland and can just see a Marauder flying through twisties in the pine forrests, screaming to a stop with tires smoking at the edge of a glacial lake, ripping off it's clothes and diving in...

Oh Ms. D!!!!

And the best cookies?!

As for sharing worldwide, hey, i'm ground zero, yet i share with you guys!

Allow me to have a few minutes.

I am 66. I have been driving for 49 years. I have never had an accident, nor a ticket of any kind. I drive my Marauder like I want to keep it! I have cars that are driven on the track, and I have taken the Marauder onto the VIR at a SAAC weekend. BUT... I was on the track with the FORD SVO team member who was driving a black Marauder (team car). I taught Physics and Chemistry for 44 years. I know how a heavy car takes turns at high velocity... it doesn't!
While I can't prevent an accident by another driver, I can certainly avoid one. Marauders are fun muscle cars. But heavy cars have their limits on turns. It is physics. Again, for every Marauder lost in the USA, for any reason, mine appreciates.
Yes, there are few after market suppliers, and that list grows smaller every day. I have already stock piled new parts which may need replacement in the future (wheels, center caps, spoilers, exhaust, etc) If I never use them, then I will become the parts supplier as I sell off my inventory. There are many members of my Mustang club who do this very thing as a matter of routine. In the National Guard, we had a drill sergeant who often told us of the six P's. Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance.

Other parts of the world wants our car. I remember A friend of mine getting told the were buying up all the 92 era Caprices, refurbishing them and shipping them out. It's the big car thing. We have, nobody else does. It's a compliment and a tragedy all at the same time...
