When turning wheel at parking lot speeds there's a thumping noise that I can feel in the steering wheel?

Sounds like a ball joint, or tire rod.

Anybody with one of these 10 year old cars who hasn't rebuilt the suspension yet . . . should. You'll love the improvement.

If you at or near full steering lock (hard over) and get grinding when doing turns in parking lots etc - you can grease the bump stops on frame, put a dab in each 'pocket'. Easy, try that first.

Could be power steering, suck some out and replace with lucas power steering fluid.

So not only did the bushing that surrounds the steering shaft and mounts into the floorboard came lose but the bottom part of the shaft where it connects to the rack is bent? Don't know how the hell that could happened. So is a cv shaft the same? If so I guess all I have to do is switch the column wheel airbag anything else I should know?

You know I was just thinking that maybe it was made like that. Ok so I guess my problem is that bushing that keeps backing out so I guess try to put that back in some how
