I was nosing around under the hood today an noticed a ground wire directly from the battery (with a ring lug on the end) just hanging there, not connected to anything. The ring looks like it was never connected to anything either, so it obviously did not come loose. I searched other threads for ground wire problems and found nothing. I attached some pics to better explain.
There are two wire connected to the groung terminal on the battery, one smaller gage than the other. The smaller gage wire is connected to the body panel right next to the battery. The other larger wire is just hanging there taped to some other harness. My engineering expereince says "hey that smaller wire is way to small to carry the full current of the battery, this other one must go somewhere".
Anyone know where this gets connected?

On my car that wire is connected to a stud just below the forward lower cam cover bolt, right next to/above the pulley on the right front of the engine.

Anyone know where this gets connected?I don't have a picture, but here is where it goes: Follow the front of the black valve cover down to where it meets the head ,you will see a threaded stud protruding from head right next to belt idler pulley, insert eyelet over stud and secure with a nut.

Thanks guys, found the stud where that wire should be. Also in the process of looking for that I found another bolt missing, that is just above that stud, that is for holding a bracket for one of the pipes going to the heater core. I think I am going to have to really give this thing the once over on missing parts because this is just a few of the missing clips, screws, caps, etc... that I have found to date.

I'm looking at your build date....maybe you should crawl under the car from the front, look at the tranny where it connects to the motor, drivers side, midway up, and make sure you have the oh so famous 'oops forgot to install the 3" grommet' that covers view access to the t/c. I drove mine for 3 months allowing snow and salt to just enter the tranny.:shake:
The good thing is, connecting that ground wire adds 15 RWHP!! :banana2:

Maybe having all these missing parts will make my car lighter and faster.
