Well tomorrow will be my Marauder's first car show. I'm so excited to finally have a car that is presentable at a car show. I washed her real good, she isn't perfect but that is fine by me. I never got around to removing the cobras off the sides so hopefully the Mustang crowd does not throw me into a dumpster. Anyways, I washed her up, cleaned the inside, conditioned the leather, and tossed some trash out of the center console. Of course, since I live in Florida and it has gone about 12 hours since it last rained it immediately started storming the second I snapped this picture. :bigcry:

Do not be to hasty about the Cobra removal Mod , Because many of the Florida Hiway Patrol cars had them placed on the lower front fenders:burnout: and all their cars were moded and tuned for 130 plusssss ..

Have a great time at the car show. We have another one coming up in October here in the Texas hill country...and I love being a part of all the shows in this area...part of the thing that makes owning one of these cars so much fun.
Be ready for at least one person to ask you "what kind of car is this?"...then you can provide an education and discussion about your ride.
Enjoy it all.

Ah, memories.

You never forget your first......................... ....autoshow.

I've been showing my 64 Galaxie since the early 80's. I couldn't even guess how many shows/cruise nights she's been in over 30+ years, but it never gets old.

I just hope that whichever daughter winds up with the car, she'll continue the tradition.

I've had the Cobras on my fenders for close to 8 plus years , no one has ever said anything. If anything it draws people to look more at the engine. Enjoy the show !

Here's a tip to get more lookers.

Print up an info sheet. Nothing too elaborate or long winded, (just 6-7 bullet points), and don't use print that's too small to read.

Put it in a 8 1/2 by 11 frame, and find a place under the hood where you can stand it upright.

I have seen people walk by my car, notice the info sheet, come back to read the info sheet, and then walk around the car and ask questions.

Here's what my info sheet says:

• 1964 FORD GALAXIE 500 XL

• 216,000 MILES/3RD OWNER

• FEB 1969-PURCHASED; $750

• 1980-COSMETIC
RESTORATION/REPAINTED ORIGINAL COLOR
“PAGODA GREEN”

• 1980-CONVERTED TO 500XL
(BUCKETS/CONSOLE/FLOOR SHIFT)

• 2011-NEW ENGINE (390/300 hp)

• 2012-NEW UPHOLSTERY

Had a blast even though it was a million degrees outside. I ended up sandwiched between a Shelby GT500 and a lowrider pickup with a bush directly behind me. The guy at the entrance wouldn't let me in at first because he thought I was a patron in a Marquis. I had to explain to him how rare my car was and that it was not a Marquis. Overall I had fun and spent a lot of time telling people about the greatness of the Marauder. Ended up with a sponsor's award to boot.

It was in Lakeland, Florida at a local Church on Lakeland highlands. They have a car show every Labor Day and it has grown massive since they started. The only other Panther I saw was a Town Car with hydraulics.
