Just wondering how well my stock tranny with J Mod should hold up behind this type of HP? About to install a procharger and I thought about this. Tranny has 49k miles and Was serviced by the dealership approx 7k miles ago.

Any does or dont's I need to be aware of? It's not a daily driver. I usually drive it on the weekend only. Thanks in advance....

Don't force a 4th to 3rd (or 2nd) gear downshift. Always take it out of O/D whenever you plan to romp.

Don't manual shift the trans.

I'm currently at 455 HP, have been S/Cd for approx. 35k, no tranny issues to date.

J-mod it, do the maintenance then your good. These are very strong transmissions.

Good to know. So it's good other than that. Basically only WOT from a dead stop? Then only roll into once in it gets in higher gear with OD off?

Mine has been holding 470+ for 2 years.
Jmodded and big ole tranny cooler with Amsoil ATF in it.

Pretty much leave OD off unless you are cruising, if you want to play turn it off.

Around town my OD is never on

Best to punch off the O/D whenever you plan some spirited driving. Also, if you've got T/C, turn that off as well.

Sounds fair enough. Just want it to still be enjoyable. I don't see myself going WOT often if any. It's stock and I've only seen WOT two to three times in almost 20k miles. That was at the drag strip playing around and once on the street up to 2nd gear. Just wanted to feel/hear the tires bark on the street

I can only imagine. I put a C4 in my Vortech S trimmed mustang while my TKO600 was being repaired. It would spin the 18's running about 55 mph when I nailed it.

I put 45,000 miles on mine and pulled it out for the manual swap in perfect condition.

Play hard, perform maintenance, play harder.
