Doors closed, key/on/off/on/off/etc... ending in OFF I believe 8 times. Doors will lock/unlock to initiate programming. Press LOCK on each remote being programmed. Done.

Mine goes into "program mode" after 4 ON/OFF cycles as indicated by the locks cycling. However, when I push a button on the new, and even the old, remotes, nothing happens. Nothing programmed. It's broked. :-(

I'm having trouble with this too. Bought my remote on eBay, the vehicle application chart stated Marauder was compatible, but the instructions included did not mention Marauder. Since CV/GM had identical instructions, I assumed all Panthers would be the same. I've tried 3 or 4 different program instructions, but the door locks don't cycle on any. Does anyone have definitive info on this? Wht do dealers typically charge to program the remote?

Are you sure you have the right fobs? They are marauder specific.

If the FCC # doesn't match this, it's not going to work.

Only one of the 2 remotes that came with the car match that number, and that's the one that quit working. Guess I'll take it to the dealer and see what they say.

Finally figured it out: I wasn't turning the key fast enough. Here's how it works.

Put key in ignition.

Turn key from off to run (not start) 4 times AS FAST AS YOU CAN. Door locks will cycle to indicate car is in program mode.

Immediately press any button on the remote and door locks will cycle again. Up to 4 fobs can be programmed one right after the other.

Turn key off and door locks cycle again to indicate programming is finished.

Thanks, I've had a remote sitting here for mine for some time and now that I cycled the key as fast as I could it worked just fine. :burnout:

I was having the same problem, could get it into program mode, but the key fob did nothing. Over the weekend I had the door panel off to get the door code, and noticed that I was able to get the remote to program by holding the key fob about 3 inches away from the DDM. That is the range. After doing some research, I have determined that the gain circuit on the DDM has failed, and that is why the key fob will not work. I was able to extend the range to almost 8 inches by adding some wire to the antenna assembly. I am going to be looking for a DDM at the junkyard this weekend in the hope that I may be able to fix this. It should be pretty much the same on any like year Ford/Merc/Lincoln product.

Bringing back an old thread.

Has anyone found a source for replacement key fobs? I tried the Amazon replacements and one from the auto parts store. Neither worked. Based on this thread it looks like there is a specific FCC code needed for our Marauders. I have one original. Need at least one more.

Let me know if youve found any.

Thanks

Rick

just buy used guts off ebay and buy a new case? Videos on youtube for a 2003 grand marquis shows how easy they are to program. like 30 seconds and you are done.
