That probably will not work, based on they way they did tech in the past.
I suggest you contact the track in advance.

It is better to get a helmet that fits, an ill fitting helmet when you need it is not a good thing.
A member wrecked his MM at the track and was very glad he had a proper fitting helmet.
They are not that expensive compared to what you spent to get your MM to run fast enough to need a helmet.
Good Luck with passing it around for Tech and in the staging lanes. I would rather be focused on a good run.;)

HOOHA! Fire jacket only required if running NOS, that means I don't need to bring the coveralls.

Will need a helmet, though.

I am late to this thread.

I will look at home and see what helmets and jackets I can bring. My helmet(s) are Large if I recall correctly, cause I got a big tater.

As I told Chris last week about something else, if you borrow it and don't return it, you will hear from my attorney....

Is AMS going to require helmets and jackets?

SC Cheesehead

Is AMS going to require helmets and jackets?

All drivers running vehicles 13.99 or quicker MUST have a full face helmet meeting the SNELL 2005 rating.

If you have Nitrous on your vehicle you must have a single layer fire jacket.

No helmet at AMS required.

I have helmets but most of them are not full face. The full face I have is Snell 2001. I have spent enough money on helmets so if I cannot borrow one then count me out of the fun. Sorry!

MyBlackBeasts
09-10-2013, 08:49 PM
Have no idea what they cost...

After reading the rule requiring the helmet I did research and found out that an ill-fitting helmet can be more dangerous than no helmet. Too loose & it can roll and break your neck or windpipe. Too tight & the impact shock it transmitted to the skull.

Therefore I decided borrowing one was not for me.

I went to Pegasus (www.pegasusautoracing.com (http://www.pegasusautoracing.com)) today and picked up a new Bell snell2010 fullface which Bob sized & fitted me correctly for and was pleasantly surprised @ only $249. Was expecting much more than that.

Given what we spend on these cars, there are things to get cheap over & this is not one. My head & life is worth a lousy $249.

See ya'll there! :D

Can anyone answer this?

I know you are supposed to empty all loose items before you can get on the track (this question refers to both Commerce & AMS) but empty to what degree?

Do you have to empty glove box & center console? What about things in the trunk organizer?

Thanks for the help! :)

Stuff equals weight which slows the car down. If its secure you need worry about it.
