View Full Version : Wanted To Buy 04 Dark charcoal interior wanted to buy or trade for my flint

Just bought my Marauder a few weeks ago, chose it because of the low mileage etc. The interior is flint and I've always been partial to darker colors, only reason for the switch. I'm looking to trade the entire interior for a dark charcoal, or possibly buy parts that I can as they become available. This MM only has 28k, interior and seats are in very good condition, no scratches/tears on seats and very few scratches anywhere else. If someone's interested in trading we can swap pics....if a trade is in order I'd like to get at least close to the same condition of course. If you're interested now or would be anytime in the near future PM me!
Edit - this is only to swap interiors, included mileage/so forth to illustrate not much wear on my interior but now realize it sounds like I want to trade cars.

 Yeah it's possible, as long as the trade is for same quality stuff though I'd really prefer the darker regardless

I would definitely look into how rare your car is with the Light Flint before i took it out. At least if it were me.

Theyre more rare than a blue....i want to say only 113?
I understand your reason, but why not just trade it for a mm with a dark charcoal. I bet you could trade it for a mm quick and you'll end up with more then what you have now.

rarity depends on exterior color, I don't believe he revealed that..

If you have a black MM with a light flint interior you have a rare Marauder. Personally I'd keep it like that.

You may want to look into re-dye them black, any good trim shop or yourself can do it. Just make sure they remove the seats and not to dye them inside the car because of the over spray.

Lol well you guys are making me feel guilty now, it is a black 04 with flint interior, didn't realize that was uncommon. Thank you for the feedback I guess I'll consider it some more given the circumstances. Just in case I can look into it though, Showroom how much do you think it would run to dye everything? Is this a reliable method for good looking/long lasting results? I've always like the look of Marauders so I don't want to change much buy was considering a color change

I wouldn't dye it. I just don't trust dye/paint for interior parts. Never lasts.
Personally, I don't like light flint. Go for it. Maybe keep the originals.

I wouldn't dye it. It will never hold up.
FYI... here were ONLY 156 2004 Black Marauder's with Light Flint interiors..... much much rarer that 2003 DBP Marauder's (328)

Ive personally have seen more kenny brown mm than black with light flint. Keep that shat the way it is man!! Im not saying i like it better, but if you dye it/trade/sell the seats, i will shed a tear.

So much turmoil in my mind now. Don't know what to do. Refuse to make anyone cry.
I slid into my MM today and caught a glimpse of this light flint interior, a naked passenger seat's curves caught in the golden glint of the sunset. I looked down at the floor board, embarrassed, but the soft leather underneath me told me that it was ok to stare. I looked around me, trying to fully appreciate the flinty beauty of this interior. I turned to look at the rear seats, only to find them gazing at me with raw desire, that 'we were made for each other' look. How blind I've been, I thought. It was as if the girl next door came outside without her glasses on, and it struck my heart like a sack of bricks. "Be mine," I said.
"I've been yours all along," the interior whispered. "Touch me."
So either that or I feel exclusive for having a rare combo

If you have the money change the interior and keep your light flint somewhere protected. Definitely a rare combo, it's your MARAUDER do what you like, but...

What happens in TX stays in TX..TMI!!!!! just kidding..I understand..I had a light flint interior on a crown vic sport and wasn;t thrilled with it.but it wasn;t a one of 113 or so Marauder combo. It is rare..I would try to find a way to be at peace with it..You have a low mileage marauder to begin with. and finding a Dark Charcoal with limited seat time etc.. and in just as nice condition is pretty much not gonna happen.

Get the interior you like. Light flint is rare for a reason....it just isn't all that good looking. I doubt the car is going to be some super desirable collectible because it has a light flint interior, one of 113.

115 of the 7093 Marauders built in 03 were Black with Light Flint, just 01% of the production run.
156 of the 1237 Marauders built in 04 were Black with Light Flint, just 12% of the production run.
Not sure of the reason for Light Flint, but I looked for the Black / Light flint, combination for a long while, because I liked the look. The seats are cooler on a hot summer day. Might be worth $8.00 more.......

I think that LF interiors were sold in warmer areas of the country so that the seats would not get so hot.

Somewhere in the world, somebody wants a black with lf, im not saying it will be more of a collector's car, but i do know that if i was parked next to you at a mm meet, you would have more people interested in your car than mine. Definitely a highlight that is a selling point to some.

I own a 2003 MM with the Flint Interior - very rare and I believe adds some value to the car.
It is a great car for the South - interior temperatures are 20 degrees lower with the Flint. According to Steve Babcock, the reason for the Flint interior was that a number of Southern Ford Dealers went directly to Ford and requested the lighter interior due to the concerns of a black car and a black interior. So Ford approved their request and made a very limited number of Flint interior cars. Have you ever seen a Blue MM with Flint - very rare indeed.
Can someone give me the number of 2003 Black MM with Flint interiors and also Blue with Flint. I had the numbers, but can not find them now.
