Cassette player? From Ford? I have an '03 with OEM CD player and no cassette. Did the cassette player only come with the car if you got the 6 CD changer? Perplexed!

Both my 04 DTR's had cassette and cd,as well as my 2003 GM Ultimate and I have 2 spare stock MM radios w/cassette and cd and both dated mid 2003.
If you have the dvd Mercury sent out with the cars check it out.
My 04 has the 6 cd changer, no cassette player; while my 03 did not have the 6 cd changer with the cassette player.

Thank You Ken! I did not realize the sound differance. I can't hear any of thoughs funny engine noises at all now, or my wife talking. It's going to be a great ride home.
Grandaddy,
Hook up the Sirius Satellite radio and kill the power to the trunk CD, you'll never look back.

My 04 has both...Looked today at the radio in the SB and to my surprise there is a cassette player. We bought the car new and first time I ever noticed the cassette player was this afternoon. Wonder if it works? Wonder if I have any cassettes anymore?...................

Yeah I believe I might have been the only person who used my tape deck on a daily basis lol. Had to think about upgrading to the audiophile system because I asked Ctrlraven if it had a tape deck lol

That is easy stuff to miss. All most of us care about is the motor, the rest is icing on the cake.

You know there are ways to convert all the cassette tapes to CDs or mp3. I converted almost 300 of my cassettes.

Just having a little fun.
Already started that years ago, just keep cassettes around with the 45s and 33 1/3s till i decide to get rid of them. CDs and mp3's sometimes don't have the same feel as playing a cassete or record.

CDs and digital files will last much longer than tapes and vinyl. Depending on the age of the cassettes they may be shot already.
