Just in time for MMVXI! Had her up on the dyno for her final run and BOOM! The A/F ratio was right where it should be, rwhp was coming in at 411 and torque at about the same. It was tuned conservatively with the timing backed down but I guess it was just too much for her :bigcry:. I will be getting the full damage report Monday or Tuesday.

What RPM did you allow the tuner to go to???

Stock rods blow. Mine had about 40k on it and I ventilated my block. It was putting out about the same HP back then. Mine was catastrophic. I had to buy everything but the heads.

That was then, this is now. You will make it better, get a stroker crank while your in there.

looks like i just may be selling the headers and stay at 345rwhp on the stock motor.:dunno:

I think Marauderjack has over 250K miles and over 150K S/C on the OEM motor.

The tune and the driver has a lot to do with it.

I can so relate, these champagne rods we have, are not up for boost.
Especially if you race it and have lots of miles!
Oh yeah, and turn up the boost past 10ish

Im not sure or i dont remeber if he said... it was a bit disoriented by the news. The techs workin on it were very befuddled by it though. They seem to know a lot about these engines so i dont think he was pushing it too hard. They have a MMR 900 longblock sittin in storage a former customer never paid for..... hmmmm i smell a conspiricy

I hope you get this fixed better than new!

However, the thread title made my sick mind go someplace else and I couldn't help remembering this joke:

A vacationing penguin is driving his through Arizona when he notices that the oil pressure light is on. He gets out to look and sees oil dripping out of the motor. He drives to the nearest town and stops at the first gas station.

After dropping the car off, the penguin goes for a walk around town. He sees an ice-cream shop and, being a penguin in Arizona, decides that something cold would really hit the spot. He gets a big dish of ice cream and sits down to eat. Having no hands he makes a real mess trying to eat with his flippers. After finishing his ice cream, he goes back to the gas station and asks the mechanic if he's found the problem. The mechanic looks up and says "It looks like you blew a seal."

"No no," the penguin replies, "it's just ice cream."

Sorry for the hi-jack!

I do not mean to suggest anything, but you need to obtain a print-out of the Dyno-Tune and verify the boost and rpm as well as the A/F mixture. All of this data is captured in their Dyno computer. I am surprised they did not give you a copy of the print-out. I run 13# boost on my Trilogy with 480 track HP with my track tune. Some have even told me that the car is running closer to 500 HP to run 11.80s. I have never had a problem with my stock rods at 85,000 miles.

Ouch. Sorry to hear this, bro. I've lost motors before, and even when you rebuild/replace it still sucks. I think I'm most shocked by your mileage with this kind of failure. I'd be looking at the dyno data log like Glenn previously mentioned...

When I decide I'll let you know. Problem is I'm such a friggin hoarder I'll probably hang them on the garage wall as art :shake:
