Dealer is asking $30k obo. I don't think it's a bad price, considering the car is basically brand new!

I would be concerned about the tires as far as their age and other parts and then again I wouldn't trust Carfax either. Can you trust the dealer?

Mr M. that there is a 300A model (as opposed to a 300B model) That means the car does not have traction control or the later version of the transmission. That may be a good thing. Without the traction control you can put the same size tire on each wheel., if you want later on. The original rear tires from BFG wear out real fast, like 15K miles. The fronts are OK. But most of us like the raked look.
Many other tire firms make suitable sizes for the car. BFG is not #1 on our hit parade.

The front end alignment specs were not good back then, align the front end to "carfixers" specs, or your front tires will wear real bad, real quick, on the inside.

The early model Marauders, 300A, had soft rear axle issues. There is a TSB on that. With that low of a mileage I would think it still has the original axles.

Remember that mileage isn't everything. The rubber seals, o-rings and other soft parts are still nearly 14 years old.

Many early blacks had issues with the paint quality.

The emergency brake shoes sometime stick because of little use.

Some early models also experienced cylinder head tick and smoke on start up.

Check the wiper motor bucket for a drain hole or you will be replacing the motor because the bucket fills up with water. Search wacky wipers.
The wiper blades may be of the thin version, they are no longer available.

Also gas economy sucks and so do transmission shifts so you will need to purchase an XCal-2 or -3 tuner from one of our vendors (Mo's is my preference) to correct these things and perk up the performance, about $400.00.

The wheels are NOT chromed but polished metal and CLEAR COATED so don't take abrasives to them.

If you still love this Marauder, as we do ours, then don't be discouraged, just be informed and prepared.

We can and will help.

I think most of us paid 25-27K new.

Ten year old gas in the tank as well as the old rubber. Maybe it's just the lighting but car doesn't "pop" like you'd think a car with 363 miles would. Paint looks worn to me. OD doesn't match trip OD but that could be explained away I suppose.

What makes people buy a car at $30K+.....keep it for 10 years and try to sell it for the original price??

They couldn't have had much fun with it in 300+ miles!!:shake:

Good info! I've been a MM owner for close to a year now, I've posted the link for those of you that may be interested in a low mileage one, as $30k is way out of my range. I could buy a nice land around here and build me a house for that money! :D

I'm pretty sure mine is a 300A based on what I've been reading here, altought I didn't understand something, did the 300A come without traction control, or it's the 300B models that have it? I hope mine doesn't have it because those tires are expensive, altought I would like to keep it stock, hmm, hard call.

So, basically I take the "carfixers" specs to an alignment shop and have them align it based on the recommendations? Do you have a link for the carfixers?

TJCOX, the dealer has 100% feedback, altought they are a low volume seller after checking their feedback in detail. Would have been better if it was sold by the original owner.

Meh, after having the paint fall off and RUST issues on my early 300A black. I won't touch one with a 10ft pole no matter how good the deal is, unless its had a full repaint.

I do really miss the front pistol holster errr map pockets on the front seats.

If wasn't for you guys I probably would have put a offer in.... Didn't know the early models had so many issues. I've yet had the chance to own one of these beast... Wanted to since they came out!!

Not all of them did have issues. Mine is perfect.

I have 135K+ miles on #805 of the "03 300a's & I drive it everyday 365 days a year and have no complaints - if you want a virtually new Marauder this looks like one worth looking into!

WOW.....Another time capsule car!

Reminds me of that double digit odometer Buick GN that was posted @ a year ago.

At this point it is probably the ONLY 'time capsule' Marauder left.
Best left as a black statue for future collectors to spend lots of money on.

I do not understand why a MM with 250 miles on it would have an aftermarket antenna on the rear glass? It is not a satellite antenna either. It is a transmitting type antenna?

That looks like one of the old cell phone booster antennae. That was pretty common 10 or 12 years ago.

For 30k he can keep it! If it were a pearl blue with that mileage it would be in mid 20s

ok, everyone chip in 300$ so we can collectively buy this car and donate it to a mueseum. That way the car will never see 1000 miles and the Marauder can live on in history!

Oh, and I suppose you could use it as a tax write off too!

That way the car will soon see 100,000 miles and the Marauder can die a slow, painful death.

There....fixed it for ya!!!......................... :D..........:P

This car was sitting on a lot in Yorkville, NY for $19,950 a few months back per Google cache. Pretty cool find...at least for them anyway.

Looks like it was traded in at Steet - Ponte Ford Inc. Yorkville, NY then sent off to auction probably where the ebay user is now selling it.

How much work would a motor/tranny/radiator/rear end need driven only 350 miles over 11 years????

I'd much rather buy a 16,000 miles car...
