Just wasn't running right. Did not want to get on the oval like it was. Found the plugs fouled from octane boost. If that's all it is ill be real happy!

Found the plugs fouled from octane boost.OTC octane boost is worthless...when they claim it raises the octane rating by 4-7 points, what they actually mean is 4-7 TENTHS of a point. All it does is foul plugs. Better to mix in some race gas.

I know, there was a reason I was using it. Now with tune Jeff enabled my knock sensor so won't need it any more.

It amazes me a tuner would ignore the knock sensor originally :(

Because the trilogy lower intake hits the OEM installed sensor they relocate to back of head and disable because of ghost vibes. The canned trilogy tune disables sensor. I custom fabbed my sensor to OEM location so wanted sensor enabled.

I guess I don't care about ghost vibes, as soon as you change the hardware on the motor the knock sensor as setup by FORD is just an indication tool. IE look at it for trends not raw numbers.

I think its silly to run a boosted car without some type of knock indication system... Its impossible to hear knock on most of our cars unless you throw an accelerometer onto the engine and listen to it through a charge amp as you do your dyno tuning / street tuning. You will only hear major knock, not minor. The stock knock sensor may not be 100% accurate on a modified engine but spikes in the trends can still hint to knock from my experience (like running an engine on the dyno vs. in car, the knock cal always has to be tweaked if not re calibrated)

Glad you wanted it re enabled! It shocks me that long term fuel trim is turned off in my tune, I am going to buy the Pro Racer pack and do some tweaking I think...

I agree with you completely on this, the thought of running boost on an engine, with no safety at all from a knock sensor blew my mind. After talking to Lidio about this a year ago I was bound and determined that if I was to boost my car I would definitely find a way to add a knock sensor.

I would also make sure my IAT is reading after the intercooler. My IAT is on the intake manifold to read after the Meth.

So what exactly am i looking at? I know i see a supercharger on the front like a vortech or maybe turbo but what is everything else like on top of the engine?

From Lidio's point of view it make sense to disable the sensor as it also disables the diagnostic for it, which helps him not get customers coming back cause the car thinks it has knock issues due to the sensor reading "wrong" on the new engine setup...

From an owner point of view this isn't acceptable to me. However I respect the tuner's decision... and will fix it on my own!

I would think the vertical / horizontal orientation would be a significant impact.

Have been able to get on the dyno and verify the setup as functional?

The locatin of the sensor center of the cylinder bank is the important issue. (This is why 04 went with 1 per bank) When the sensor was relocated to the back of the head(s) with the early kits the valve train vibration would cause ghost readings and cause unnecessary pulling of timing which is why the decision to disable sensor and depend on operator using good gas was done.

Horizontal vs. Vertical orientation does not matter, vibe is transmitted in to the sensor.

Jeff enabled sensor & indicated all is working.

How did Monday at Mo's end? Here is the rest of the story... (insert Paul Harvey voice here):

Here is where the store gets even crazier… As we were leaving the restaurant parking lot I noticed my VM was sitting under 12v. Awe, crap! :mad2:Quickly called Marty for Jeff’s number as I had him tweek a few things for me in the tune & thought maybe something got turned off by mistake. While waiting for Jeff to call back I noticed Brandon, Mike & Casey (Casey is Mike’s wife) were still in the lot. I pulled over by them and explained what was going on. Brandon (ever prepared) actually had a DVOM in his truck. Talk about lucky! While Brandon was checking it out I called Marty back with an update to which his reply was “if you need parts call me and I’ll run after them”. 11pm Monday night & he is willing to run after parts for me. What a guy! We quickly determined the alt had puked… Jeff then called me back, told him what Brandon had found and he had me drive back to the shop & was going to let me drive his truck to the hotel & would look at the car in the morning. Mike & Casey led me to the shop via the shortest route so if the car quit they could assist. When we arrived, Jeff found they actually had an alt in stock so he & Mike did a race track super swap and 5min later I was charging again.

Marty and his shop is an absolutely top notch customer service shop! I have spent no money with him however he has offered multiple times to offer Jeff up for a phone conversation. That is unheard of!!!

Glad they got you sorted out!
