We'll meet at the museum at 1030AM.

The Demonstration of the cars starts at noon.

There is another party there (65 people) so we'll be sitting in an enclosed porch.

There is smoking allowed on the porch.

If this bothers anyone I'll look for another venue.

I finally spoke with representatives at the Simeone Museum.

For a group, we'll need to have at least 10 participants.

The cost with 10 or more participants will be $10 each.

This gets us access to the museum and the ability to watch the "Demonstration Day" where they fire up and drive:

They also have catering - I'm waiting for the costs for this.

Would anyone be interested in a catered meal?

They won't let us barbeque or cater on our own.

If we want to go to the museum and, then, go to a restaurant, this would be fine with me - I'll arrange all.

For you North-easterners, this is a must see car museum.
It is in the middle of a bunch of warehouses where I wouldn't want to be at midnight,but it's one of the best car museums in the US.

Looking forward to the museam. I scoped out the drive to get to the musean on the satellite feed and it looks like a car dealership area. I'm wondering how easy it will be to get to the restaurant as the on ramp from Bartrum rd looks like it only goes 95N. I may have missed something but I thought I throw it out there for you to scope out as well. :)

I will be there, plus 2. The museum is in a desolate industrial area - airport, sewage treatment plant, junkyards, and factories. Just a couple years ago the museum building housed an engine rebuilder, Recon Automotive. I can't think of anyplace nearby with decent food and adequate parking. Had lunch at the Clarion hotel nearby recently that was pretty good (Red Fire Grill?).

MapQuest driving directions, type in both addresses, I-95 south is off Island Ave, 2 minutes away. Restaurant is about 10 minutes from museum. I will take the lead if needed. Good food, good prices & plenty of parking for us in back lot (2nd entrance), we will be by ourselves away from the main crowd. Easy access back to I-95 either direction within 1 mile after lunch. Thanks WhatsUpDOHC, for coordinating, looks like a good turn out.

My son and I had a really nice time today at this meet. Such a nice group of people. A special thanks again to WhatsUpDOHC (Mark) for the suggestion and coordination.

I'm sure someone else will have a better run down but I counted 13 MM's with all 4 colors represented. The lunch afterwards had to have at least 20-24 people. It was a good time.

13 MM's I believe and 1 White Mustang. 1 DTR, 1DBP, I believe 5 SB's and 6 JPB. I'm sure someone (Mark) snapped a few pics to confirm. We would have had 6 SB's but John's SB wouldn't start this morning. He will be flogged at the next SBS meet for not being prepared.;).

Weather was terrific, a little windy but the Sun was out doing its thing. Drove over to the restaurant with the window down and on the way home I kept being assaulted by some sort of white fuzz that must have slipped in the rear window. Anyone else have "snow" blowing around in their car during the ride home?

Food at the restaurant was tasty and thanks to Jim for setting it up and thanks to Mark for setting up the Simone museam part.

The museam is very interesting. About 60 different cars concentrating on the early years of racing. I would recommend a visit to the museam if your in the Philly area, It's not far from the airport.

Took me an extra 2 hours to get home as some putz or putzes decided to have a crash about two miles ahead of my 75mph jaunt through Philly :shake: Traffic slowed from 75 to 1mph for almost 2hours. Then just as fast as it stopped we were all going 80. Once out of the Philly catchment area traffic flowed smoothly the rest of the way home.

Yes! It was another good time, although if the MM group could have been there, it would have been even better. There was a large crowd, and I had to park on the street because the lot was FULL. The cars ran great, and I'm glad I decided to go.
