My shifter stays locked in "Park" --apparently the brake release switch , if there is such a 'thing', is no longer is wanting to work--release the darn shifter button inward so I can get out of "Park"..
Has anyone ever experienced this on the Marauder?
I have to push hard forward and push with the left hand on the button release "a lot" and finally the shifter button will release all while the brakes is depressed downward for it to finally release out of "park".
............oh BTW......you can't take the key out unless its in "Park" either.so that's puts it to another level of inconvenience ---I got stuck yesterday in a parking lot ----thus my questions to you all...........

I know that if your brake light switch on top of the brake pedal is bad, you will not be able to move it out of park. I have never experienced it on the Marauder, but have on other cars in the past. A sure tell tale sign would be to verify if your brake lights are working.
I am not sure if there is any other 'thing' that would prevent it from coming out of park.

Bet the brake switch is bad. They bend over time. Have someone check the brake lights as you normally apply them. If they don't come on the gearshift won't move. Or there could be a wiring problem at the switch. Ask Kyle about that.

Thanks Jim for the info---will try and check what I can this weekend----my mm just turned 60k a few miles ago and have been enjoying it to work these past cool days for the first time in months/years.......to the extent we left some real long marks yesterday to ID where to return to work in case I needed to know in the future--like that was an excuse I needed..--NOT! Gotta love that new line-brake--its super---
OK--will check on all the help provided and let you all know what I find if the weekend weather helps me out.

happened to me. the brake light fuse was blown
UPDATE--THE FIX WAS ABOVE^^^^^^
Ok folks--all need to know this!!!!!!!
A single 15 amp fuse -#19 - for the rear brake lights---if blown, as was mine--will also lock your tranny in PARK!! WOW--Not an item to hid from the collective--like in the owners book --if it was --it would be so small you may never fine or know it--so ......take notice and file away--better yet--keep some fuses in the car for future use---take care all........

Actually in the manual it does tell you how to get it out of park if the interlock isn't working and specifically notes that you should check your brake lights since it is highly likely that they aren't working if the interlock isn't working.

Hope the blown fuse solved your issue, Tom, but don't be surprised if it happens again.....please read the thread below; it may come in handy in the future if this issue happens again.
