Those of you that had their cars tuned to have their cooling fans come on earlier then stock, please tell me what software was used.

I can modify that stuff in my software, its called Sniper Tuning. Not cheap, but it gives you total control over everything in the ECU.

You sure about that? I run commando and I have never been able to make my fans come on at a lower temp. The option is there in the sniper part, but when you open the tune in commando you see there's no change. And also when I actually run the car with A/C off, the fans stay off till 200 and some regardless of what I do.

All that said, if it's really working for you, would you mind sending me a copy of the template they have you using for commando?

You can't. I have the complete Sniper package. Although I have selected 180 degrees, I went the extra step of actually checking when the fan comes on. It comes on at 208.

The owner of Sniper has confirmed his software will not work due to screwed up tables in his software.

You know the tables were messed up for the gearing too. You could only change tire size not rear gear size, and they did fix my template for that bug. I wonder what the big deal is fixing the cooling fan thing?

PS I believe the SCT race car stuff can do it properly. You can't dive as deep as you can in commando... but I don't find myself needing to use all the crazy stuff, and the stuff that is more typical, like the fan settings, doesn't work :mad2:

So yeah, I've been thinking about saving up my pennies and moving to SCT race car...

well dang, that's a bit unfortunate. I'm glad at the very least I don't have high IAT troubles with my car. Gotta count my blessings where I get em

Wow, sorry to hear the Sniper tuning didn't work out. I would pressure them to fix the template because at 600 bucks, everything should work or they should take it back. My mods are few and I did play around with some shift point settings and it worked so I had no reason to suspect that the software wouldnt do what it was supposed to in every other respect.

It seems Marauder specific as far as the problems go. Mustang guys seem happy.

Yes it's our templates, which is a little strange. I wonder if it's because there aren't many of us, so they just can't be bothered? I dunno, it does make me a little sad sometimes. I think that the SCT move might be a good idea, at the very least there is more community support on the SCT end it seems. I dunno what to think.
