As many of you know, I have had nothing but issues with my DBP MM since I bought it. I 100% blame DR for this hacked up MM and always make it clear that I do not blame its former owner. My feelings towards the car really started to go downhill at a Dyno Day in PA when it only put down 380 rwhp. I got sick of throwing money at it, and was getting to the point of giving up.
Just to be able to take it to MVXI, since Carlisle I had to do the following:
- I had the rear rebuilt to eliminate a driveline clunk, I did a 31 spline upgrade with the best of everything while I was doing it.
- I rebuilt the front suspension because the upper ball joint boots were gone, the Naake bushings were shot, and the sway bar endlinks were junk. I wound up replacing everything except the lower control arms using Moog control arms, endlinks and swaybar bushings. I chose Eibach springs, KYB shocks, KYB strut hardware and bushings, and Monroe strut mounts.
- I replaced the driveshaft with a Dynotech because it was too short.
I missed most of MVXI working through the remaining issues. I went to Hi-Tech Friday morning to have by exhaust leak addressed. The guys there were great. They pulled it in and found a crack in my header. They said they would fix it, but I said I would rather take it apart at home because I didn't want too much down time so far away from home. They understood and didn't charge me anything. I was beyond shocked, thanked them and headed towards Mo's.
I got to Mo's Friday afternoon to talk to Marty and Jeff. We all agreed the car needed to be put on the dyno. Jeff scheduled me for Saturday morning. Jeff loaded in a base tune and it made 426 rwhp!!!! that's 46rwhp without changing anything. After a few more tweaks, just got 439 rwhp out of it(10 lbs. of boost). He said we needed to change to a smaller S/C pulley. We decided that I would go to Summit Racing to get one and come back tomorrow morning. I went back Sunday morning, (yes, Jeff and Marty worked Sunday for me!!!!!!) Jeff installed the new pulley and belt and put it on the dyno. He made 3 pulls and all were 488 rwhp with rwtq ranging from 438-440 on 15 lbs. of boost. I was happy, but Jeff said there is more in it,it should be around 500-510. It ran out of fuel at 5500 rpms on all three pulls. We set the rev limiter at 5500 to allow me to drive it back to PA and I ordered a new pump. I should get it installed this weekend and then I'll data log it and Jeff will adjust the tune.
I can't say enough how thankful I am for Mo's. Marty and Jeff went out of their way for me. After my car was finished. Marty invited me to see his private garage and to go to a car show with the guys from Mo's. Unfortunately, it was already 12:30 and I had a 12 hour drive back to PA so I had to pass.
I drove home with an extra 108 rwhp!!!!!! For the first time, I feel optimistic that the problems are almost gone.

AWESOME, Marty and the crew are incredibly talented and giving. Anyone who is in business knows that when you have a captive audience (Marauderville attendees) you can charge whatever you want and most will gladly pay it. They (to my knowledge) have NEVER taken advantage of anyone. Stand up guys all the way around, great to have people like this in our community!

Derek its a love hate relationship. Trust me. You think the Marauders are bad try a Turbo Buick. ;) All jokes aside I am glad to see that there are people in this community that take time to help us through these WTF moments. (ie- disappointment). Because I have seen so many times someone throwing time and money at a car and not getting the results they want............ so they sell the car and change interests.......... Those people will never be happy and will continue their downward spiral. It looks like you are on the right track with your blue car now......... keep going. These cars are truly special and if it helps I would KILL for your blue car. And thanks for the info on my blue car. I never thanked you for that. ***rant off*****

Thanks for the southern hospitality, I will make the shootout, just not this year.
Glad we could help you get it into the shape you were hoping for!

Thanks again, talking with Jeff just reassured me that I was on the right path. I never trusted anything on this car and now I feel confident that it's solid. I just have some minor things to address, like silicone couplers and T-bolt clamps, an exhaust leak, and a fuel pump. I'll probably fab new S/C pipes too since they don't fit right.
Good to see you're happy with your DBP. Wish we would've had some time to chill and have a few beers this past weekend....
Yeah me too, I didn't even know you were there until I saw you at the raffle. Hopefully we'll both make the ABT.

Unfortunately, I think the ABT is the same weekend as SSHS. :(
However, if it looks like bad weather the weekend of SSHS, I may use the ABT as a back-up plan....
