Ok, so I know that this has been discussed. I've seen a few different posts, but I'm not sure what to do here. Why don't I explain the problem.

It takes me about 10-15 mins. to get to work. I turn the heat on, and all I'm getting is cold air. (Vent, Floor, n Defrost.) It does finally come on a couple of mins. before I actually pull into my works parking lot. Now for the weird part. As the car warms up the needle on the temp goes all the way to "H" for a minute. (Still blowing cold air!) Then when starts to come back down I have heat! It then centers itself between "H" n "C." The car doesn't run rough or any different, the check engine light doesn't come on, so now, what do I do?

I bought a thermostat thinking that, that was the problem, but then I read about "Burping the system, and the EATC. So I started by doing n EATC test. No codes came up. So now should I try "Burping?" I don't want to burp it if I have to change the thermostat, because I'd have to drain the radiator. Kinda pointless to put more fluid in if I just have to take it back out.
Does anyone have any ideas or experienced this before? I really hope all I have to do is burp it. But it would be nice to know.

I see a burp in your Marauder's future.

Here is the correct way to do it:

Thanks for the help, and the website with the proper instructions on how to burp the system. I thought I knew how to do it, but there were a few things I just learned, that will help make this easier. Fingers crossed

The best way to burp these cars is to get the nose pointed at the north star. I tried everything under the sun with mine and the only thing that worked was getting the nose as high as I could and that worked. If you listen good, you will hear the air bubbles in the heater core, thats why you have no heat. Park on a steep hill and get the car chocked up on ramps and that should work, the steeper the better. Watch the movie Bullit a few times and you will know a steep hill from a regular hill.. As an aside, I run Honda Blue antifreeze, it's great for aluminum engines and comes out as clean as it went in with NO scaling at all. I use it in all of my rides, the caveat is its 22 bucks a gallon. Worth every penny!!

So am I gonna have to do this again? I mean, is this like an oil change?

Once you get the air out it will be fine til you open the cooling system again.

I have an original DR rear cooling kit installed and I have no problems burping mine.
