View Full Version : Multiple problems after Engine Change

So, if you've been watching the marketplace here lately, you might have noticed my topic about engine woes. Well I just got the car back yesterday afternoon and I've begun running into more issues.

1. Viper auto-start no longer works, this may be a battery issue, will replace with a fresh battery and reattempt.

2. Driver side window will not roll down. Never had an issue before, don't think it is the switch because the interior lights dim when it is depressed. No noise from motor.

3. Car will no longer crank. While diagnosing the above problem, my car suddenly decided it didn't love me anymore. All internal lights, radio, A/C work but all I can hear when moving the ignition from the run position to start is a single pop/click. Checked the battery, looked good. Starter issue? Maybe from engine replacement? smh

4. Now, none of the internal lights will shut off. Battery is draining, will have to disconnect to prevent it from going completely dead. Before you ask, I did check the panel switch. ;)

Any thoughts on fixes? Or should I send this back to the shop? None of this was happening before the engine was replaced, although I don't see how any of it is directly connected. (except maybe the starter)

Thanks in advance for any advice.

No start sounds like a loose battery cable, maybe at the motor.

Doesn't sound like I would want to take it back to the same shop myself.

Your shop needs to do a little quality control before they deliver the car back to you. I hope things get straightened out quickly.

Ground, Check all your grounds. Battery to block, battery to chassy, block to chassy, check them all. The lights staying on maybe one of the door switches stuck. Spray something like WD40 in the latch and work it open and closed. Lets see what happens.

Take some sandpaper or a file to the starter cable neg and pos terminals. You'll go in circles if it's not making real good contact.
