Hey everyone. I work on new Fords all day here at the Dealer, but have always driven & built old 60's Fords for myself. My new MM will be the first computer controlled car that I will mod. So, after reading here a bit, I gather that the first thing the MM needs is a tune. This car will be a daily driver, so mileage & dependability will be of upmost importance. I would assume, like with a carbureted car, that the best tune is done on a dyno. I see many threads praising tunes from Alternative Automotive(Lidio) and Mo's Speed Shop. Problem is, I'm out West. Do I get a tune from one of these guys & hope it's all good? Or do I find a shop out here that hopefully knows how to dynotune a Marauder? I don't want a modified Mustang tune if at all possible. I'd rather go to some one that is familar with these cars & knows what he's doing. Thanks in advance for the help guys. Mike

Hey Mike!

I would go with a tune from one of our Vendors on the site at first.

Typically, several tunes (up to 3) can be loaded on the X-Cal for future mods and or gasoline octane ratings.

Ie: 91/93 octane and 410's.

You cannot go wrong this way.

;)

Mike.

A dyno tune on a stock car will probably not net you anything really extra, plus it cost more and really should be done by someone who knows Marauders. The tunes, Lidio and Mo's are made specific to Marauders and were derived from a Marauder. Both of them will stand by their tunes and can easily update tunes if parameters change over a simple email to you with a revised tune which you donwload to your SCT. If you have to do emissions testing make sure the tune reflects and parameters that need to be "on" or whatever to pass or you simply download the factory tune for emissions and then re-install the upgraded tune after. My vote is for Mo's or Lidio..I had a MO's tune before driving down to the shop to install a Supercharger.

Keep in mind if you get a tune from us, we can tweak it to your liking via email.

Dog... Relative I would say!! :)

I've heard plenty of good things about Mo's. That being said stick with Mo's or Lidio's tune... I had a Lidio tune on my stock NA car and loved it!

Thanks for all the info guys. Screw the local guy. I've narrowed it down to our 2 supporting vendors. I have another question. I have been offered a Xcal with a Lidio tune already on it. Problem is, the PCM code doesn't match mine. Would it still be compatible? Could it be because I have a CA car? How can I find out if it'll work? Thanks again!

I wanted to add "I drove to Atlanta 1,585 miles from Canada with stable tune from Mo's Shop to attend MV 11 & after the dyno the MM feels like a different car"
Martyo & staff are great people to know & I never had trouble on the way back home.

The mismatched processor code will not work.
