Had to replace my front tires after two years, the inside edge and sidewalls worn down to belts, the tire guy said it was due to the camber being off, probably shot upper control arm bushings,

Any thoughts, have the alignment checked, arrange to have the bushings swapped, only 72k original owner miles on my '04, so is the bushing wear premature?

Car Fixer Specs... not OEM Ford specs... problem solved!

The MM I picked up recently also has some pretty severe inner edge wear. I aligned it myself. Knocked out eccentric tabs and set camber to most positive setting possible (~ -.3deg). What are these alternative settings I've heard of?

Took it by Mike's Alignment in North Hollywood after work. Mike put it up on his lift and checked it out. The bad news was that the lower ball joints and bushings were bad.

So he left it up to me whether to buy the bushings and ball joints, or the complete lower control arms, with ball joints and bushings. His labor would be 270 including alignment, if he only replaces the small parts, 160 for the control arms inc alignment, so I priced everything and found a pair of new control arms with the parts, for 229.60 ,free shipping from Canada.

Long story short, bought the control arms, awaiting their arrival, will have Mike put them i, using Carfixer alignment specs.

Just for your own personal info here. Ford set the alignment up very aggressive on the MM for better cornering. Guess they figured we all would road course our cars. I can't recall a single post by anyone who uses the Carfixer specs complain that the car handles worse than the OEM alignment.

Don't have enough experience about original spec handling as I fixed the alignment as soon as I got the car. but my tires like the new specs, and so does my wallet ;)
