Local Ford/Lincoln dealer - only they will have it. Spray Wd-40 all over your engine bay to stop metal from rusting. If you get any on the manifolds it will burn off. Do that 2x 3x per year = no rust.

Spraying WD40 all over the engine will turn it into a dirt magnet. Dirt will trap moisture. Best is to keep the engine bay clean.

As for the rusted tube either get one from a Ford dealer or take it off, wire brush it off and paint with a rust preventive paint.

Ok I'll have to get one from the dealer, the rust is already too bad it looks like it could spring a leak in probably the next year or so.

Post up the name when you get it as our SB needs one too. :)

Part number would be better.

FYI I seem to recall this tube being labeled as a hose to add to any other confusion you may have when ordering. Also be on guard as many parts for the MM engine end up coming back as 4.6 SOHC engine parts through Fords parts viewer!!

I believe they referred to it as the heater core hose.

I also like spraying stuff with WD to keep rust at bay. A quick rinse on occasion and more WD is a good thing.

Not really a dust magnet. I have no rust anywhere in engine bay. A little dirt wipes off. You can't wipe off rust..

Wd40 eats away at some rubbers, silicone spray doesnt and does the same as wd40 as a rust preventer. Wd40 is great btw, im just saying there are better alternatives....no lube is a" works for everything lube"

BS alert. WD-40 is safe for rubber.

The only thing WD-40 isn't great with is polycarbonate and clear polystyrene of which there is zero in an MM engine bay.

im sorry to burst your bubble again(just like i proved you wrong in my oil catch can that DOES show the amount of oil blowby i caught from the gauge on the side) but if you do a quick search on google, wd40 contains petroleum distillates, which are not safe for some rubber. true silicone sprays do not contain petroleum distillates. take your BS and try calling someone else out. im 2-0:P

The best silicone spray is Permatex, if you can find it. I use it in the engine bay profusely and have yet to replace a hose on any of my vehicles since the 1980's. The stuff comes out like sn0t but works better than others out there. In a pinch you can use most others but some are dry silicone and not really good for what we are looking for. BTW, I had the same problem. Mine is rusty too, try to solicit members here preferably from the West Coast to search their parts stash for a clean one. Then paint the b@lls off it and install it.

I actually removed that hose when I did the rear cooling mod. I used seiges routing method.

Whitey knows everything! Put your pinky in exit the hose past your catch can... Bet it aint dry is what I said. Better yet show us your rust free silicone coated engine bay! You don't practice what you preach.
:flamer:

Look a rust test, hmm can you find the silicone coated sample? What were we talking about? Oh yeah rusting parts in the engine bay.

What did you do to plug the outlet in the COT?

Capped it off with a rubber cap and clamp. Zoom in on this pic

i never said wd40 doesnt prevent rust, i simply stated its not safe for some rubbers and silicone will do the same as a rust preventer, and if your going to go spraying your entire engine bay and undercarriage, i wouldn't recommend it. if you recall, i did say wd40 is a great product none the less. you cant just take some random steel, spray it with different lubes, and say "wd40 works better!", different steels, alloys, molecular make up, porosity, etc will change results, so some scrap steel thats tested doesnt cut it for real life results. example: stainless steels and non stainless steels.

practice what i preach? im simply stating facts, i have used silicone on my engine bay, and its not rusty, and its a daily driver, and it has 153K on it....

heres the outlet on my catch can, catches everything down to 10 microns in size:eek:, not even enough for a drop.....whats yours look like?

dont call BS on me when im stating facts, dont exaggerate what i say. im not on here to steer someone in the wrong direction, just here to give solid advice and back up my statements when you, or anyone else, try to call me out. i'll take advice, but no one is going to tell me im wrong, when i know im right.

Does any one know where I can find this hose?
It has been discontinued and seems to be unavailable everywhere.
Mine is rotting out and I need to replace it sooner rather than later.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sure that would be the easy way.
Still.... if any member knows where I could get an original part please let me know.
Anyone else run into this issue?

original parts are gone, so unless someone is keeping one from a parted out Marauder, your best bet is to use a heater hose as mentioned unitl you may or may not find that needle in the haystack. and yes, others have run into this issue and have fixed it without the part. Don't forget to burp the coolant sytem of all air or it will overheat.

I know this is an old thread, but there is a replacement part from Dorman. I know this because mine just rusted out after 203K miles and I did OE part # cross on Dorman's website.

Dorman part number 626-202

OE numbers: 3W7Z 18663-BA or 9W7Z18663A
