Best hotel casino rates. Just make sure you pick one on the strip. http://www.expedia.com/Las-Vegas-Hotels.d178276.Travel-Guide-Hotels

Let's build this up as the WEST COAST Marauderville.

I will start looking around for group rates etc... Need a decent casino with great parking! I will see what I can do.

lets all start "calling all cars" and members and get on started. I missed Lousiville due to a work conflict... last year... and I checked into shipping me car back, and then driving back... and it is a little too far and too expensive. I think we should start a west coast Marauderville... for all westies....

START SPREADING THE WORD!

You can often get outrageously good deals on the strip during the week days. Weekend rates are usually much, much, much higher.

Great promotional rates are often available at the Venetian, Palazzo, and Wynn Hotels. These are first rate ***** luxury resorts on the strip.

If you are traveling on the cheap, you can often get good deals on Fremont Street at the Golden Nugget. Not the prettiest part of Vegas, however, good values.

If you love great bawdy humor, bare breasted women and circus acts, Go see Absinthe at Caesars Palace. Best show I have seen in a long time. Adults only, however.

Most any Circ de Soleil performance is worth going to. We especially enjoyed the Beatles LOVE and Mystere.

Penn & Teller as well as Blue Man Group are also very enjoyable.

Hope to see everyone in Vegas soon.

Whenever the meet is set up for, it should be setup for Vegas downtime (no holidays, no spring break, no summer) from what I've seen, the colder it is in Vegas generally the cheaper the rates are.

Weekends are definitely more expensive than weekdays but can the majority of people get weekdays off for the meet?

Vegas.com is the web site I frequently use for lodging and entertainment in Las Vegas. My son has a nice home in Henderson, Nv, so we usually stay with him.

The way I do Vegas is room hop to the casinos where i want to be. I get there with the casino and room I want for that first night. Check out early (early morning) and go to the next casino I want to stay at with my room and wait until they allow me to check in. It helps avoid the traffic and you are located in the casino or near it with your attraction for that day. Because traffic builds up just before noon and its a bear so I avoid it at all costs. I plan my activities and room around it. And no sleeping in or you will get stuck in the mess on the strip. It makes for a less frustrating trip.

The Venetian and the Polazzo are two of the most luxurious five star Hotels on the Las Vegas Strip.

Above is a link to incredibly good rates, as low as $119 a night in mid to late November. Perhaps that would be a good time for a Marauder Road Trip.

I do a Vegas trip about once a year. It would be interesting if we did get a fair size Marauder group together to meet there. A few slated activities, places to eat (Steak n Shake), car talk, and time for those that go off and do thier own thing.

The 8 hour drive from the bay area can get tiresome, so I typically like to stop at the Calico ghost silver mining town for the night. They have camping and stuff there. And if you haven't seen the Bonnie and Clyde Car in Primm on your way to Vegas, its a neat thing to see for a quick stop. And if your a Costco gas only person, there is just enough Costco gas stations spaced along the trip to get you to Vegas, lol.

YES!!!! Lets keep this alive!!! We need to grab a weekend date or two, in advance and float it out for all.

Since 2013 is fading quickly, we are probably planning for 2014. Should we start a few dats for Jan, Feb, or EARLY March?

I think if we could get 20 or so... it would be really really cool.

We had one a few years back that turned out pretty well, I am down for the drive as long as it is toward the end of April and on to spring time. We got hit with a bad snow storm last time we did it in March on the drive back to Utah. Not an experience I want to ever do again.....

We host events here quite a bit. After wasting a lot of money at strip hotels our next event is going to be at the Plaza Downtown. It was just gutted and refurbished and opened back up about a year ago.

Rooms are usually $30-45 or if you want nicer rooms you can go across the street to the Nugget and get a two story suite for about $150.

The Plaza has something for everybody from a good $60 steak all the way down to McDonalds right in the building and everything in between.

If you want to drive you're right at the intersection of all the interstates and you're right at the North end of the Strip.

If you want to drink you're right at the end of the Fremont street experience where you can walk around and drink to your heart's content, then stumble back to your room.

They have an upper parking deck that is usually closed off where you could get some pretty good pictures of cars too.

We're done with events where the coffee is $100 a gallon and internet service is $2k. The downtown Casinos offer a bargain these days.

Whether you want an event with a convention style room, or just a cool place to get together and meet downtown is where it's at.

No, I don't work for the Plaza, I just live here and have to host an event or two every year and have learned some lessons.

:banana::banana:Sounds great. My only real requirement is that the cars are safe... while I am too pie eyed to watch over them!

Downtown on the roof is about as safe as you can get. Most cars stolen here are ricers. My sons drag Honda Del Sol was Stolen from the Venetian parking garage and found fully stripped in North Las Vegas 6 hrs later.
