Fuel pump swap question

What is the white piece and is it needed?

looks like a check valve to allow fuel to be pumped out but not let it return to tank when pump is off

That's what I thought too, but I looked at a lot of modified fuel hats and most don't use it

Yup! You don't need it at all. I removed mine when I installed my 340lph pump because looking down inside, you could see the diameter in it was the choke point. No issues starting ever. :beer:

I reinstalled it, but will probably pull the pump again and remove it.
