Mm knock off rims?

Found a set of mm rims with two bfg tires for 700. The guy says the rims are in real good shape he sent some pics but not close up but do look good also has center caps. I'm trying to figure out how to tell if there reman or knock off etc and if it's a good deal etc? Input please???

2 rims with tires? or 4 rims with tires or only two have tires? I'm not interested, just trying to clarify as $700 for two rims with tires doesn't seem too lucrative to me.

If the rims are OEM marauder the center cap will sit flush on the wheel. If they are the Mustang wheel with the same style the OEM gods head center cap will not sit flush.

There were some Mustang (IIRC) rims that looked similar if not identical to the MM, but were cast where the MM rims are forged.

If they're genuine, and in good condition, then $700 for 4 with 2 hard-to-find OEM rear tires is a decent price. Ford wanted over $400 a piece for them new.

If the rims are OEM marauder the center cap will sit flush on the wheel. If they are the Mustang wheel with the same style the OEM gods head center cap will not sit flush.

i just had a wheel replaced, on the back it says ford, 03-04 marauder and the center cap does not sit flush like the other ones. after a month and 4 wheels later of the shop sending wheels that didnt match, i settled on it. a little disgruntled, but what am i going to do:mad2:

So the guy is 2hr 30min away i thought he was 45min away. Hes in hickory nc he went down to 550 if some one wants hes info let me know

I picked up one late last year and it was identical on the front side as well as the center cap fits too...on the back side is where the difference is. Back side of the spoke on the factory should be smooth if you run your hand from back of spoke to the inner edge. The one I picked up started smooth then I felt it drop about an inch from the back of the spokes. So if you imagine a cylinder that is 14" dia the an inch from the edge it becomes 14 1/4" dia. after 1 1/2 " from the back of the spokes. It was suppose to be a reconditioned factory wheel for $275.

Back of my rims all have a "recess" on the back side of the spoke..sort of dished out..mine are forged with Ford part number laser engraved.

No Ford part number laser engraved onback of rim, then not a orginal. And I'm not so sure that the Mustang/Marauder ones are cast. i think they are forged too.

OEM Marauder wheels are forged.

Knockoffs are cast.
