Nothing on-line or responding to a part out. Actually found one.

Jerry has a story.

If you do, post up.

I have never "found" one.

Fortunately, haven't had to go looking for one, they have briefly been in there.

There is/was a Silver Birch one in Clearwater, Florida a few months back. Hard hit in the front and back. I managed to get a couple things from it.
The interior was shot, but might still have some misc (usable) trim pieces. The motor was already sold.

Now, the only other one I know of is not in a junkyard. It is another Silver Birch that is being parted out by a guy in Naples. But it is not in a "junkyard".

Both are pretty well stripped at this point. The guy in Naples is down to selling the Motor, Trans & Rear. I managed to get a lot of good stuff from this car (like rear bumper cover :D). I am sure there might be some misc avail. But he sold the complete interior to someone.

I Found a used motor on eBay after I bought an 03 that needed a motor. Fortunately you vultures (mm.net members  ) hadn't heard about it. It was still on the car and had a trilogy on it:D
I went and checked it out, then I couldn't sleep for two nights. I was stressing over whether or not to buy a boneyard motor. Then someone posted the eBay link on here  the jig was up. Poop or get off the pot. I called the fellow and drove over with a check.

Since then time and money, I have never had such an addiction in my life:beer:

Yes, I'm reviving this thread. Jealous of this find. What's the general consensus on how to find these? I know there are plenty of listings for salvage titles all over the web, but is there any way to find out if any are in junkyards? Where do the salvage/certificate of destruction titles go if they don't sell? Obviously I'm a clueless noob on this subject.
However, the hoarder part of me likes to think that I could go and grab parts and have some commonly needed parts handy for days down the road when I needed a repair or replacement of somethin. Seems like every day there are fewer and fewer...

Any advice?

Closest one to us was several years ago at Auto Warehouse in New Albany. I got a few parts off for the black car but it was hit so hard I couldn't pull the gauge pod out. Wheels were gone and doors as well. Not many useable parts were left.

found one here in Chicago out of the blue a couple of years ago. I scooped up a few things wish I got more, 2 days later most was gone.

They of course knew what they had, everything was at a premium

So I guess it's just hit or miss when searchin around the local junkyards? Wish I didn't have to comb all the junkyards or buy a whole daggum car at a salvage/cert. of destruct. auction just to get parts. There's one that I have my eye on that's a salvage title at auction, but I don't have the time/money/space to pick it up :(

I bought one at a company called manheim louisville at their auction but it was in their junk repo section so it was wrecked/frame damaged/vandalized etc. Black on black build date 08/02

How do you find out, via web, if there is one in a local junkyard? I use www.car-parts.com, but I have to select a part. Or am I missing something in the search parameters?

www.copart.com

There are 11 of them right now, but most look pretty rough.

You guys would be mind blown at how many of them are laying around from time to time in Junkyards here in Metro Detroit area.

I remember driving in greater Detroit and used to see like three for sale at even just one used car lot. This was about 2005 or 2006. Saw a lot of young gangsta type guys driving them around (no offense intended). Heard on the radio while there that a guy called into the radio station's open air time and was at a party hooked up with some girl at the party and walked out the next morning from her place to see his Marauder had its rims stolen. The host on the radio station said, yeah that is a nice car. But I sensed he didn't actually know what a Marauder was.

I think the majority of Marauders must have been sold in Detroit or at least that has been my impression of when I was in detroit during that time frame.

wasn't Detroit or Michigan in general the area with the most MMs then Chicago, then Florida. DC seems to have a lot as well.

The last time I saw a Marauder actually out on the road in the Tampa Bay area was about...mmm, I'd say 6 years ago (2007-2008). I originally saw a black one, then some time down the road I saw an SB. I fell in love with those cars then. Haven't seen any on the road since. Very tempted to go lookin around local junkyards.

I really wish I had the room to store a Marauder for parts on my property. If I did, I would've snatched one up that was near me not too long ago.

2 Things I have found is that when I find one its picked over or it was hit so hard nothing is really good, oh and yes they know the parts are worth money. :)

There were 3 in one yard in the Houston area. I got a set of floor mats for $5 bucks. They were going to use them on the ground to lay on so they didn't get dirty working under the car  Picked up an extra COT that was tossed in the trunk for $5 bucks also.
