Haven't drove my MM in a almost year and a half now and I'm finally ready to put it back on the streets in about 2 weeks. The alternator crapped out on me on memorial day night last year and I had just bought a 2000 CVPI as a daily driver so I took the MM off insurance and stored it in the garage.

Well now the CVPI is sold and its time to put the MM back on insurance in two weeks when my renewal period kicks in. I've been driving old faithful (1990 5.0 CVPI) since I sold the 2000 CVPI in July and the old box has so many problems I just can't wait to sit in that nice comfy leather seat again. But before she gets back on the road I figured I had to do some stuff first.

For one I got the alternator( 200 amp off eBay), got the battery from Walmart(everstart maxx), sent the wheels off to a powder coating place for a gloss black paint job, had my godshead badges that have been sitting around for the past year finally put on( I think I need help with the trunk emblem, I have pics) and a pioneer double-din navi unit.

My goal was to have somewhat of a different look and feel from when I drove last year. Also I'm going to finally pull the trigger on the CAI which I should have been done, probably the JLT. I feel like a distant cousin to the Marauder family that has moved back in town LOL.

Did anyone else do the godshead trunk emblem and have trouble with it sitting flush?
The pic is of the trunk lid with the mercury emblem removed and yea I scratched it a lil....
It seems as if the godshead emblem is bent a little too much for it to sit flush, I understand that it is spose to have a certain amount of bend in it to support the curvature of the trunk

A shop called custom functionz in white plains,Md just pass waldorf. The quality is great I just wasn't pleased with how long they had them. Dropped them off mid July didn't get them back till beginning of Sept. Only reason I wasn't too worried is because I knew the car wouldn't be ready to move until late Oct anyway

I noticed the same, even worse as to my eye the curve was off from the desired orientation of the emblem. Here's a quick shot of mine - sorry for the glare, was demonstrating the difference between stock and LED reverse lights.

I also found the the front badge was slightly smaller than the original. I'm undecided if I'm going to leave them on, or look for another option.

Yea the front badge is smaller and I had to cut a hole where the old mercury emblem was so that the new one would sit flush. But the rear one has been giving me fits. I need a lil body work so I think I'm going to wait till after that to put the emblem on......

BTW where did u find LED reverse lights??

Those came from CARiD, but there are lots of options. I'll provide more pics and comments at http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=89884

Well finally got the alternator and battery in along with a new drive belt everything seems to run fine for a car that hasn't been driven n a year and a half (although I did start it up periodically and by periodically I mean maybe once every 4months lol). There is one thing, I'm noticing a major voltage drop when I hit either of the window switches to roll the windows down. Windows come down fine but the lights get really really and I mean really dim and the voltage drops down to about 11.5v-11.8v .where its idling at about 14.9-15.1v with new Batt and Alt..

Going back under the hood now to change the oil and flush the coolant, got six quarts of royal purple that I jus traded my soul for ( $10 a quart at Advanced ), next up is the JLT CAI which sitting n the house waiting to be put on.

I would post pics but sometimes it works and other times it doesn't when trying to add an attachment from my phone gallery to the post....I'm not tech savvy I guess lol anyways back to wrench turning......
