Well I finally replaced the upper control arm / ball joint at 158,000 miles
They cost about $90 and $94 each at Tasca Parts.
The mechanic finished both sides in about an hour and then alligned
the Maruader to Carfixer specs. I also replaced the left front tire.
I'm running Hancook Ventus V12 Evo's in 225/40/ZR18 size up front. They have great grip and last longer than the BFG's.

results: The car is handling much better. Cornering has firmed up as
have braking. The replacement parts look beefier than the originals.
I give the repair a A+.

A 225/40/18? That is like 2 inches shorter than oem size..and narrower..Does it not look small in the wheel well? what size do you run on the back?

At 158K you needed the whole front end rebuilt with new shocks too!

If you want the cornering to really improve a set of rear control arms would do the trick. I happen to know a guy that has some. :D
