Maryland House Bill 577. NO MORE FRONT TAG!!!
As of Oct. 1st 2013

Thats right guys someone in Annapolis pulled their head out of their azz just long enough to listen to reason from car collectors and enthusiasts and came up with house bill 577 which states that you DO NOT NEED a front tag displayed if the car didn't come with a place to mount it. The exact wording of the bill is as follows....

FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING, FOR A VEHICLE REQUIRED TO DISPLAY TWO REGISTRATION PLATES, THAT THE FRONT REGISTRATION PLATE MAY BE STORED IN A CERTAIN MANNER INSIDE THE VEHICLE IF THE VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED WITHOUT A MEANS TO SECURE AND DISPLAY A FRONT PLATE; MAKING STYLISTIC CHANGES; AND GENERALLY RELATING TO REGISTRATION PLATES.

So if your car has no place on the front bumper for the front tag you NO LONGER NEED TO DRILL HOLES making stylistic changes to your car!!!

"G.P.S may call it "Estimated Time to Arrival" but all I see is "Time to Beat".

The new law applies to new and new "used" vehicles registered in MD that either have no means of affixing the tag to the bumper or have no mounting bracket installed on the front bumper to start with..

This is my understand after talking with someone at the Maryland State Police.

What I was told could be completely different from how the law will be used and we all could take off our front tag.

I have no front tag on my car, my wife's, or my mother's when I got the car for her. Never any hassles to date. I heard they were thinking about doing away with it here. It would only save them millions of dollars in a broke state......

I doubt in this commie state the law reads that easy, there has to be a catch or tax. That is the way things are done.

If memory serves, and it may not, doesn't the front bumper have indents where the plate holder holes are supposed to go? So if it does technically the manufacturer supplied mounting points for a plate holder.

I bet this law works mostly for streetrods and customs.

All front tag brackets are put on by/at the dealer. I do not believe the Marauder will be covered by this bill, that is why I bought the Sto-N-Sho.
