Any auto parts store will have them. Fair warning though: Don't buy the cheapest and install it in a spot that will get the least amount of moisture or see if there are any openings on the bottom to allow moisture into the relay itself. My first one died within a month. I took it apart and it was totally corroded out. Cheap Chinese crap with an opening in the bottom. I bought a better one and sealed the hole in that with a little rtv.

I got a replacement at Radio Shack. It appeared to be the same quality as the one Trilogy supplied.

I saw one where it had all the wiring installed on it. I've looked at so many threads I forget where I saw it. And it wasn't specific on part #, etc.

Simple, a low amp 12v connection when power is applied to it activates a coil with a pole in it that energizes and becomes magnetic, pulling a large contact held back by a spring down onto another large contact that allows a higher amperage current to flow through. One circuit powers up to power another, larger circuit. :P

I've done my share of electrical splicing, wiring, soldering, heat shrinking, etc., but I have no idea how to choose the right components to finish a wiring build like this.

That weather proof relay is similar to the SPAL and Hella ones I like to use. Good stuff. Only way to fly with under hood/exterior relays.
