I read a feature article on a particular 1977 Mercury Monarch. The present owner bought it used in 1991 when it was traded in on a Crown Vic. He drive it "...through the 90's and then purchased what some consider the ultimate development of the Ford panther platform in the early Oughts: a Mercury Marauder. The Monarch was unintentionally exiled for about eight years while Carl (August) enjoyed the Marauder.

Is Carl a member? Did you hang on to the Marauder?

Wow...I had a 77 Granada...decent first car...very reliable...but ofcourse pale in comparison to the Big M...

I had a 79 Monarch. Thought those were great cars.
