hey guys I work at a shop and a scrap guy comes by once a week and if anybody has any stock cats you have laying around off there MM I will give you 25.00 for each of them plus pay the ride or any other STOCK cat....

you just send me the cats ill give them to the scrap man who gives me 30.00 ill make 5 bucks for my time and send you the money through paypal for them....

I know theres people who wanna scrap them no scrap/ recycle yard will just take them anymore without a liseance to do so....ive had this problem prior to working were im at now

its no questions about is a long as there not hollowed out he will take as many as I can get he said..he comes every Wednesday

Your guy is taking you for a ride, where I work we typically get $75-$80 for a stock CV cat from the scrap guy .....that's per side. Aftermarket cats have just about no value....maybe $12 a side.

I found out that they changed the laws when I tried to sell my totaled '95 GM exhaust cats.
The recycling yard said...."No go", not from a private individual anymore.

I put both sides (dual exhaust) on craigslist for $50.00 and some recycling guy called me in no time flat.
He showed up the same day and even gave me $55.00.
Then I knew that I had listed them too cheaply on craigslist.

Yeah I'm going to have to agree with BigCowl here. Seems counter-productive to ship cats to you for only a $5-$10 profit margin. Unless someone is local that would still mean driving and dropping the cats off.

Just fyi - the stock cats from an MM are worth $50 EACH. There are 4 cats from the factory on an MM - thats $200 total.

My old man can scrap cars since he owns a repair facility. I always get $50-$100 a cat. Anything from a 2000 or newer car has a high precious metal loading, worth more.

Seriously guys, i dont think 410 was trying to scam anyone. In md, its hard to get rid of cats, and all he was doing was throwing an option out there for us....if you think it was too cheap, then dont sell your cats to him. But lets not bash him for his option.
