Whining sound after letting off the gas:

I don't know if this is old news to some of you, but I've noticed that when I hit the gas for a WOT blast, sometimes I hear a whining noise after I back off on the throttle completely, which lasts up to 2 seconds. yesterday was the first time that I reved the engine up to about 4,000 RPM while in park (not something I usually do) in order to get someone's attention who was waiting for me on the other side of a parking lot, and after stabbing the pedal and letting off, I heard that whining sound again while the engine RPM came back down to idle.

Does anyone experience the same thing w/their Marauder? And can anyone tell me what that is, or if it's something to worry about. if it is, then i want to get it fixed now before I perform anymore mods to my MM since my warantee is still in effect w/what I've done to the car so far according to the service manager I've spoken to.

That is the alternator clutch, nothing to worry about.
Our alternators cut-out at high RPM surges to avoid damage.

I knew about the alternator clutch and how it works, but I didn't realize that it made noise like that. it does sound like it's coming from under the hood, so that must be what it is. Thanks a lot!!! I was beginning to worry about it.

GJA is correct, Alt. has a clutch so it doesn't burn out,I thought I had that problem when I brang it back to the Dealer, that is what it was.

I have that same whine as well when I get off the gas right after a WOT run, and it's nice to know that it's just the alternator clutch!
