2003 marauder battery light on

Hello folks, hoping for some help, recently my battery light turned went on in my 03 Marauder. The inside gauge indicated that the alt. was not charging the battery, I verified that with my meter. (11.3) So I replaced the alt. and it charging (14.4) as per the gauge and my meter. But the battery light turns on after about 20 secs, any thoughts. Any help would be appreciated.

Your new alt. might have had just enough more juice to initially charge a dying battery. Have you checked the voltage with your lights on? Could also be a connection issue.

If you got a alt with the wrong regulator this will happen. The marauder has a computer controlled alt. if you have a alt that doesnt have the correct regulator the computer can't control the output and turns the battery light on. Happened to me once.

Test the battery. It might just need a charge.
