I made the trip to Huntsville dragway for Friday night test and tune. Just an 1/8 mile track, but a track no the less. Let me first say thank you to my wife, (purchaser of mods) and Mr. Dennis Reinhart (producer of mods). Comparing back to Atlanta prior to the mod installation, I ran (average) 2.397 60 foot times, 6.616 330 foot, and 10.050 @ 73.36 for the 1/8. Friday night, with temps in the 70's, I ran 2.229 60's, 6.288 330's and 9.550 @76.29 1/8's. That's a full 1/2 second quicker in the 1/8 and nearly 3 mph more. This is still with the original gears. Just awesome bang for the buck. I made 14 passes (could have done about 25 but I ate and watched some). I also got to see what it was like to get smoked on one run. On test and tune night, they pretty much line you up as you arrive in the staging area. I got lined up against a 6 sec. (1/8) Chevelle. It was awesome to watch. He was leaving me so fast I had to check my right foot to make sure it was on the floor. It was also my quickest run, although I think it was because I was caught up in his vortex. I also got ot play the "smoker" part a couple times. First run I beat a "bottled" Mustang GT. It was satisfying, especially after the look he gave me in the staging lane. Brought his nose down about 20 degrees. Made him adjust his bottle too. Beat a 440 Challenger, a "purpose built" Malibu, and my favorite kill, a Black Mustang GT who weaved his way through the line to get a shot at the Marauder. He even cut a better light than me, but I ran him down. All in all, it was a blast. I'll be back on Wed. night for the same deal.
