I was sitting at the light after the freeway offramp. My Marauder all clean and still with dealer paper plates. I gunned it when the light turned green, broke the rear end loose slightly as I turned left and raced under the freeway overpass. Within seconds, my rearview mirror was glowing with red and blue lights. It was a California Highway Patrolman in a Crown Vic. I pulled over and awaited my destiny and thought " There is no way I'm gonna get outta this!"
The officer walked up to me and asked "Do you know why I pulled you over?". I told him, "Well, yes, I do. I got on it at the light". He replied, "Yes, but you were also doing 50mph in a 25mph zone".
I handed him my license and registration and proceded to inform him of all the software and computer programming problems I am having with this car (a true story, but no excuse for my behavior). I also honestly told him I was a new member of the CHP 11-99 Foundation (a charitable organization that donates to families who have lost their loved ones in the line of duty) and had yet to recieve my license plate frame, plaque and registration holder.
He looked down at me and then looked at the car. He told me that he thought the car sounded great and looked good, but I was going to have to be more carefull next time. He then handed my license and registration back and told me to have a nice day!
