Yes there is alot posted about this subject and good reference material to be had. I have been working my way thru it all.
The car is throwing a code for #6 Cylinder. While trouble shooting I decided to compare the voltage output to a coil not throwing a code; that is to the coil from the wiring harness. The missfiring cylinder is around 14volts, can't really remember, while the good cylinders are not showing any voltage. I expected it to be the other way around. Weird.
Just so you know:
-I tried replacing the coil with a spare
-replacing the coil with one from a good cylinder
-checked the sparkplug
-looked for damaged wiring from the accident
-Yet to do a compression test.
-old Gas?
The car has been doing alot of sitting while I rebuild it; about 18 mouths now. Gas has stalizer in it but I am thinking that might be a a problem.
The engine has about 60,000 miles on it and is suppose to be a long block crate motor so i am hoping that it is not a bad valve.
