I am just curious, if you are going to get a car painted cheaply, how many times can you expect to have to pay to have it re painted???

For a good black paint it ant no where near cheap. Your best bet might be a real good cut and buff but our paint is thin so hes got to be careful

I don't care if her toenails are painted, I just want her to Roar and Purr when I give her some Throttle. I'm color blind, the vibrations I get do the trickhttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/11/16/vytyda5y.jpg

I had a Maaco Paint job on my 1992 Town Car. It was their second tier paint job with the clear mixed with the paint. It was a decent paint job for the money (like $699, or something like that). After about 4 or 5 months after it was painted I had Xzilon applied. DAMN, that car shined for another year and a half until I sold it without ever waxing it! See pic.
I am thinking about having the Maaco guys give RescuRauder a quick Base Clear all over and refinish my Marauder F&R bumper covers. I think it would look a lot better than it does now. I am not ready to shell out $2,000+ for a better paint job just yet.:o :depress:

In my experience, the biggest cost component of a quality paint job is the prep work. On a fairly straight car with peeling clear coat, this can include removing mirrors, lights, plastic door trim, etc. and much of that can be done yourself and driven to the paint shop.
Sanding, dent removal, bumper refinishing, can all be diy, but take a little more effort.
If you did most of the prep work and used a 'cheap' paint shop because they have spray gun and paint mixing expertise and a spray/drying booth, you might be surprised.
