I don't want to hijack MM03Mok post on Rex but I have to share my relationship with Rex with you. We were organizing the Carolina Marauders through the site and Rex and his wife were early suppporters of our group. They hosted several group meetings at their home and were at any gathering we had more often than not.
I hooked him up with that first Blue MM and supported him with advice and performed some of his modifications as he wanted.
This guy was pasionate about our community. He supported this site and its members. He organized and attended many of our gatherings. He truly enjoyed the ride!
While I heard of his challenges a while back, I saw activity on the site and thought he was over the hump. This is truly a shock to me.
The older we get, the more people we know and love pass. This is one example where experience does not make it any easier.
I encourage all that have met him to remember that smile as it was always there. For those of you that didn't, I'm sorry.
God bless Terry and Family. I look forward to sharing a cold beer with Rex after I check in at the gates.

I first met Rex face-to-face in May 2011 at the BOC in Mooresville, NC. First thing I noticed were the suspenders and his hat that had a Wisconsin plate with "GO PACK" on it. We immediately hit it off, since we are both Packer fans and I knew quite a bit about Wisconsin geography, even though I'm an NC native. (parents are from UP Michigan)
Rex is one of the few individuals that I immediately bonded with. He was a person that I wished I could have spent more time with, and I can honestly say that I looked upon him as a bit of a father-figure as well. The time I did get to spend having him as a good friend was too short and I can only imagine the hardship Terry and his kids are going through, since they were fortunate enough to be able to spend a large part of their lives being with such a great man.
He has truly left a void that will be tough to fill. The next round of MM gatherings are going to be tough, knowing he won't be there to be a part of the fun. We have lost a key member in our community.:alone:

"I gotta go to the restroom" 10 hours later he reappeared sober, well rested and just a fuzzy memory of leaving the lobby, and his jacket there, and his glasses, and keys.. :)
Man he cracked me up so many times. Always waited for his call come winter time when he would be up in the area on business and wanted to meet up, don't think there has been a year missed since I've been around. Five years of Louisvilles, a couple Maraudervilles, BBQ's.. For someone who lived so far away from me it was so odd that we would see each other every couple of months it seemed.
Hey, the guy had a wicked party van in his younger years! He was obviously a fun guy to be around!!!

I still recall the very first time talking to Rex. He was wiping his car down in the Louisville hotel parking lot a few years ago. And I just went over to him and that's where I met one of the nicest people you would ever want to know.
Thankfully, when Rex drove Mikes newly eaton swapped DTR to Louisville for us this past meet. He didn't have a car. So I gave him my keys and we drove 5-6 hours back to his hotel in Indiana. Many conversations and laughs were had.
Miss ya Rex.

I remember everytime I met with Rex as every meeting with him was a treat.
My first Louisville meet in 2008 was the first meeting with Rex. Zack was poisoning us with Blackberry Brandy. We sat outside laughing and joking, taking jabs back and forth about Packers/Vikings. I get up and go to the bathroom and come out, no more Rex.
Well he couldn't have gone far, his jacket, keys and phone were still sitting on a table in the lobby.
Couple hours go by, No Rex. Next morning, in the lobby talking with Zack, here comes Rex
"There you are you son of a ***** Zack, don't feed me Blackberry brandy. I lost track of everything and barely found my room"
Well it was friends at first sight. BOC, Rex Pool Party, southern Breakfast, trips to the Kilt, playing cribbage, every minute with Rex was a smile.
I will miss him dearly and just having a hard time coping with it right now
The streets of heaven rejoice to welcome Rex, but our hearts rest heavy
Boost gets you
