Well, i finally got around to the dealer about the ripped seat and my paint problem. It actually looks as if the ripped seat is a chronic problem with fords/lincolns/mercurys because the service manager brought out a couple colored flyers showeing where "common" rips/holes in the seat are. So they are fixing that.
As far as my horendous paint goes, both the body shop manager and the service manager looked at it and saw the paint is REALLY bad. Plus the fact that the car was repainted on the drivers side rear quarter panel and now is chipping, also heps the matter. I also noticed that the clearcoat is peeling off the passenger side rear quarter panel near the bumber. So somethime this week, the ford rep will come in to see if my car "deserves" a new paint job. Hopefully all goes well and i get it done. Maybe i'll follow in logans footsteps and possible get a pearl tossed into the clearcoat!!!

Sorry to hear about the bad paint. Good luck getting it fixed. I was under the impression that the cars built in June of '02 had the best paint? You must have one of those "Monday morning cars" that just didn't come out right. :depress:

The dealer alreadyd knows my paint is bad, and they said last time that on the next visit they would address it, but this week when I was washing the MM, I noticed that on the passenger side door.....not so much on the door, but on the door frame on the car near where the weatherstripping is. There isnt any paint. My MM is black, and on that section you can see what looks like the tan primer. It has more of a black overspray on tan primer rather than tan showing through the black.
Also the whole car has these spots. Looks like specs in the paint, really visible when the car is wet. Tons of dirt debris in the paint.
So if they were to just fix the spots with the runs and debris, they would be pretty much painting the whole car.
Another weird thing.......when I bought the car there was a scratch in he bumper. They wanted to touch it up, and I said well then lets go back and talk about the price again. So they agreed to paint it. Almost a year later i havent had time to get it done. When you look at the scratch you can see blue metalic paint underneath. I wonder if they had to many blue bumpers and not enough black ones and repainted one. :bounce:
