Has anyone out dropped a new edge 5.0 aka Coyote engine between the fender wells of a Marauder yet? Im pondering over the thought.

It's not the easiest proposition...It's the PCM/ECM issue..to make it all work, the Marauder PCM wont run it and the 5.0 pcm wont run theMarauder stuff. It's something along those lines, if it was simple, it would have been doen by know. Eventually somone will get it done who lots of money and some great tuning abilities. prolly just have to gut the Maraduer and wire everything with the a mustang harness and fab up new gauges etc.

Seems like someone (Marty maybe?) said it might cost $25k...

I checked into it with Kurgan Motorsports.

The new computer that runs the Coyote engine will not work with the auto transmission.

By the time you get a crate 5.0L Coyote,
the required new computer pack,
somehow make the auto transmission work,
get a power steering adapter/pump set-up for the Coyote V8 (they run electric power steering now),
hook up all the accessories and make them work,
and in my case, not throw any codes that would screw you for emissions tests.....

you were rapidly climbing north of $20,000.....

That was assuming that my current headers/exhaust would bolt right up to the Coyote.

I think a Coyote would be awesome in a Marauder.....N/A you add 100+ HP and 70 Ft-Lbs TRQ, plus better gas mileage.
But for the money required, there is a lot of cheaper options.

Wonder if a manual swap would be easier than figuring out the transmission stuff. We already know how to manual swap a Panther.

Without a doubt, yes.
I guess then you just need to figure out how to integrate the new Coyote engine's computer into the Marauder's OEM computer functions.

Hey,...thinks for the input guys. I better start saving some more pennies and doing alot of research. Lol. Thanks again for the replies.

This is a task even I would turn away. Too much wiring! At least the manual has no emission functions. Very basic two wire hook ups is all, back up lighting, speed sensor, reverse lock out, and neutral safety.

Anyone who has the patience and money could make this happen with the mustang auto, or manual, and the PCM as a package. Figuring out the emission controls, fuel, and gauges would be a joy.

It's not difficult just expensive. You'll need the engine, the FRPP wiring harness and an external driver for the 4R70W, a hydraulic power steering kit and a few more odds and ends. It would be a lot cheaper to get the FRPP modular 5.0 stroker block and a supercharger kit.

doesnt seem that hard, just finding a donour car or finding a motor and 6 speed auto trans with the harness and your good to go, so custom fab work as required, wiring wouldn't be that be of a deal, if humans built it ......its manageable........

It can be done. But IMHO stupid. I'd rather stuff one in a fox. They'll run low 12's with a stock engine.

It would be light years cheaper just to do an eaton swap. Likely faster too.

From what I've heard from owners the GT82 trans is a hit or miss. Some say they are awesome, others say they don't shift worth a **** past 7k.

What about putting the stock 32v heads on the Coyote 5.0 short block? Then it should be a direct drop in.

I'm not even sure 4.6 dohc heads fit on a coyote. They are different blocks. It's not a quick fix to make one work. Yes it's been recently done with a truck motor and lots of tuning issues. Marauder PCM does not automatically run the motor and trans of this swap. A lot more to it than that.
