Just did the deal for my new MM!

I am buying my new MM from Bob Lewis in San Jose.

A previous thread by JRC50 contained a post about a great price on a Marauder and I followed up on it.

Here's what's coming...

2004 Black/Nudo MM with Factory Power Moonroof, 6-Disc CD, trunk organizer, heated seats, car cover, spoiler, remote start, alarm, and the 4-year extended premium warranty plan.

Bottom line, out the door with Tax, License and ALL options and additions: $33,831.94 YES!
I will pickup the car next Tuesday. :bounce:

I had previously ordered and was going to buy from a dealer back East but I canceled due to the fact that the CUAW was still holding that car hostage.
After being flamed by several Unionistas on this site, I wanted it on record that a sale was lost due to this labor action.

I am looking forward to driving the MM soon!

Thanks to all of you on this board who have answered my questions and provided a source of information second to none on the MM and related topics. Special thanks to JRC50 for his post!

As for the Union thing. I don't begrudge anyone working in their own best interest. In this particular case however, the Canadian UAW have caused me
a delay in receiving my MM and cost a good FLM dealership a sale.

JRC50, if you come through the Sacramento area, I would like to treat you to beer and dinner for posting the information which placed me in negotiations with that (Bob Lewis) dealer!

Now for Lidio's Chip, Zac's Rear Control Arms, and Steeda Underdrive pulleys. Oh Yea!

Best Regards,

David

IMO 11 or 12K is a bit much. If you can get one for that price don't hesitate. Good luck. :D

Congrats on the new ride! Sounds like a good deal. Drop me a PM when you've got her and we'll get together for lunch on a Sat if it will work for you, provided you don't mind breaking bread with a Republican:)

Sounds like a good deal. But, I thought the deal at that dealership was somthing like 11 or 12K of the MSRP.Please tell....Forget about MSRP it is always inflated!

The real price of a car is:

Dealer Invoice - Holdback - Dealer Incentives (like stair-step) - Publically Announced Rebates and programs + Dealer Profit

Added to this (if applicable) would be:

Dealer added options cost + Option markup + Labor

Added to this, of course are tax, title, and doc fees.

On my MM purchase the approximate cost were:

On my deal the (after rebates and programs price) started about $27,500 due to power moonroof and included a $500 dealer profit margin (what he told me) then $1,250 worth of dealer installed options (with labor) were added. Added after this was about $1,665 for four more years of premium extended warranty. Sales Tax, Title, Docs, etc added another $2,900 (California)

Be a savvy Buyer:

Become familiar with the 'car business terminology' and skip the salespeople. Your knowledge of practices in the car business will serve you well!

Go straight to the sales manager. You will get your best price every time or
they will tell you they simply can't do it. Large high-volume dealerships are
the best places to shop.

Then, to simplify your life when having the vehicle serviced, you might give your local dealer a chance to match it. If he can match it, or come damn close, then you will have the advantage of a little more leverage with the dealer for service if you bought it from them.

Congratulations! I think you got a great price when you see it's the out the door price. I paid 29,950 for mine out the door for the same options except without the warranty, remote start, or alarm, and that was on "a" Plan employee discount. I think you did well.

Cheers to you'(gatorade) I was told all they had was 6000 rebate. I asked for the spoiler, remote start and the price was right at 30000. Time is not right for me yet. But im happy for you
