Well, we all know that I've finally gotten my way and a new head / valvetrain will be installed on my car 4-6-04 and 4-7-04. Aside from that, there's a few other tricks I have up my sleeve... hehehe.

I'm due to be at Kooks Headers at 8am this Thursday (4-1-04). I've had a leak from my passenger side header since it was installed (10-14-03). I didn't post anything about it because I didn't want any potential Kooks customers to be scared off. I simply called Nick and told him what the story was. He gladly told me to bring it up for a warrantied repair. Kooks really stands behind their product, and I stand behind them... great company.

While it's there, I'm going to have them install a Kooks / Magnaflow x-pipe with cats. I've also purchased Flowmaster 40 Series DeltaFlows to be installed in place of the SLP LoudMouth glasspacks. I originally bought the headers before Kooks was even offering an x-pipe setup. Mine was hand built and featured some "unruly" bends. My Dynomax cats blew apart last month. And last but not least, the SLP glasspacks are the loudest mufflers on the planet!! They sound AWESOME, but are just too loud for a daily driver.

So exhaust will be completed, head will be replaced (plus, new red valve covers from Wes), and then......

I have two weeks vacation in the beginning of May. WATCH OUT FLORIDA, HERE I COME!!! Dennis, I'll be calling you tomorrow to set up an appointment for my MM. Level 2 trans, torque converter, trans cooler, fuel pump upgrade, high-flow fuel filter, and full dynotune... VROOOOOMMMMM...

Oh yea, it's my 500th post!!!

Those glasspacks are the best sounding in the world. With the right set up they can make the ground shake:bows: Then ride down the street and shift into low 1 in front of a crowd and watch the reaction on thier faces when they hear that rumble.

They are amazing... I just can't see the practicality of a NASCAR-ish exhaust on this type of car anymore. It'd be right at home on a Cobra, though. Plus, the mufflers give a slightly higher tone on the overhead cam motors than they do on traditional pushrod motors. At low revs, it sounds a bit whiny. At idle and while under a load they sound fantastic. I got plenty of compliments... just not from my sleep-deprived neighbors. I wake them up every night when I come home from work. I think the Flowmasters mixed with the Magnaflow cats and Kooks Headers will make a great sound combo. We'll see... I'll post outcomes tomorrow night.
